Speaker amps for headphones
Take a look at this https://robrobinette.com/HeadphoneResistorNetworkCalculator.htm I made one with values 6.8 and 1.2 ohm. supposed to be 16.8 db. Works great with Luxman LV107u, Nad 302 and a Shiit Ragnarok. I hav two boxes, one with Jantzen resistors, one with Mills resistors, and I can't...- Mataugust

Speaker amps for headphones
I have used HE1000, GS1000, K872, T1 on Luxman LV107u, NAD302 & Shiit Ragnarok I. Attenuation acording to Robroninette 16.8 db. All sound fine, though Luxman imo is clearly the best of those amps. Even the 25W from Nad was enough to make HE1000 sing.- Mataugust

Speaker amps for headphones
Finaly I made my "Robinette box". It really make my grado sing, even better than before I haven't used noninductive resistors, yet. I'm still waiting for some Jantzen to arrive. Used 7,5 & 0,5 ohm to be able to use this on my K872. The Grado were easy to balance, but the K872 is not. Good...- Mataugust

GS-1000 Lovers: who's left!
I have an old set of GS1000, running on a Luxman LV-107u and it's amazing. A friend of mine heard them and bought his own pair.....Now he's trying to sell them again because he likes Hifiman HE-1000 more. I disagree, I like the sound of GS1000 much more than HE1000. Compared to Beyer T1 and Senn...- Mataugust

DENAFRIPS 'ARES' R2R discrete ladder DAC - close up view
I did the switch about a year ago, and I hardly remember the difference. I did it because i, for a period, upsamled all my music to 192000 using SoX in Foobar. When I gave up that upsampling, the sound seemed more relaxed, somehow, so i thougt i should try a nos dac. Ares sound more relaxed...- Mataugust

I exchanded my Marantz HD-DAC1 for this Ares. I'ts definately different, not shure if it's better. But I wanted to spend som time with a NOS dac.. I'm happy about it, and has no plan to change dac in near future.- Mataugust

Popular Classical Music
I am crazy about piano concertos, almost no matter the composer. My favourites are still the traditionals. Here Horowitz plays Rach 3, probably the last live peformance he made of that concert. -

Great thread, thank you! Not sure if Christopher Tin can be called classical, but I'll give it a go. -
Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
I'm using a Luxman LV-107u & Grado GS1000/AKG K872. Sounds great. My friend has a Liquid Crimson, and though the Crimson is better, i was surprised that the difference was rather small. Tried at at meet to hear different amps priced $500-$1000, and the Luxman was far better. Have a dream of...- Mataugust

Final Amp for HD800
I'm another friend to him and asking for him: When you say that he CAN select, does it the mean he HAVE to select 6,3 or 12,6? What happens if the selection is wrong? Same questions goes for B+ 200V/300V- Mataugust

Is the Audio-gd NFB-6 the least liked Audio-gd product?
I have just borrowed the gd 6, and I',m quite imressed - using it single ended with my Signature Pro, And it has only played for 2 hours now. My normal amp is Little Dot MKIV SE, but the sound og the GD is more like me.- Mataugust
