    Upgrade/Mod a HeadRoom Max?

My HeadRoom Max has been sitting on the shelf collecting dust for a few years now, relegated there as the convenience of the small USB amps are more suited to the mobile lifestyle I've had lately.  However, when I plugged this monster back in I realized exactly how good an amplifier that this...

    custom 3 cable life

My cables have kinked and are exposing the wire underneath, so it will probably also be a warranty repair/replacement. This can't be cheap for Klipsch and I'm sure they'd change the design sooner rather than later. With all that said, these are the best IEM's I've ever heard and I'll stick...

So what portable amps are you folks using with your Klipsch IEM's

I find that the Nuforce mobile icon is incredibly well matched to the Custom 3's. It takes everything I like about the Custom 3's and makes it better, but maintains the balance.

    Upgrade from Etymotic ER-6

The Custom3 has proven to be an amazing upgrade. It has smoothness, but there is no compromise in high-end detail. Bass is plentiful (I can't imagine what the X10 sounds like if it is rumored to have even more bass!) Some people like the high-end of the Etymotics, but the Klipsch sound is...

Promising new portable headphone amp (Mobile Icon) from NuForce

Mine has burned in nicely too, and the harsh sounds have smoothed out. This is a killer little amp for the price! I'm surprised at how much battery burn the USB output has on my notebook, though! It cuts battery life in half!

Promising new portable headphone amp (Mobile Icon) from NuForce

What pmp? It's just my Vista Business notebook via USB right into the icon. Fit and finish is excellent, everything feels solid. Controls and jacks are all aligned properly and have no sloppiness. It's surprisingly small, even though I saw pictures before ordering. Most of my listening is...

Promising new portable headphone amp (Mobile Icon) from NuForce

So far, I'm pretty impressed. The presentation is very neutral, just like the other NuForce products I've heard. I'm listening with my (somewhat new) dual-driver Klipsch Custom 3's and it's doing a good job driving them cleanly. Here are some specific thoughts: The Sound - Dutch Radio...

Promising new portable headphone amp (Mobile Icon) from NuForce

My icon mobile arrived today - just in time for the long weekend. I'll post some thoughts on it soon. Out of the box, it's amazingly small and will travel nicely in the case that my new Klipsch Custom 3's came in.

    Upgrade from Etymotic ER-6

I found one ad for the K370 in Europe for roughly 70 Euro ($100 +/-). It might be worth picking up a pair of those too once they hit these shores.

    Upgrade from Etymotic ER-6

I just put an order in for the Klipsch Custom 3. A dual-driver design with great reviews for $150 is pretty much unbeatable.

    Upgrade from Etymotic ER-6

For what it's worth, if you search for "mini 3" you get a LOT of irrelevant threads. The complete lack of anything beyond listing a few products in Alai's post didn't really motivate me to go and search much for anything he recommends. I'm researching the Klipsch now, and think I'll order a...

    Upgrade from Etymotic ER-6

I think it's time to upgrade from my Etymotic ER-6. I'm travelling a lot and would like something with a little smoother sound quality. I used to own the ER-4's and respect what they can do, but found them a little harsh on the high end. I have AKG K701 and a class-A Headroom Cosmic at home so...
