Yep... I get around 6-6.5hrs too with my 15gig pod. Equalizer off, backlight off, no date/time, no games, etc... I just hope the mini has better results. However, from what I've read about initial tests, it's lasting about 8hrs.

Just a question about this noise... Is it from the audio playback or is it from the HDD?

Like I said, this 'clicking' sound is not in ALL new iPods. Maybe just the 30gig models? My current 15 doesnt experience this, and neither do many others. However the 'clicking' sound has been identified by quite a few other too.

Even though I am in agreement that the new iPods look great, I think it would of been better if only the button that was pressed became illuminated, instead of all four.
