Which replacement cable for YAMAHA HP-2?

Did you find a good replacement cable for the HP-2 headphones?  I am thinking of replacing the cables on my HP-2 headphones and was wondering how you handled the split for the left and right channels at the headphones.

Yep.  I made sure the felt was there.  I didn't think about setting up a picture to show that.

From dBel84 "A fellow enthusiast recently asked me to take a look at their YH100 as one driver was not working. He also asked if I could document the process which I duly oblidged and thought I would post it here for anyone to reference in the future."   I just got the repaired YH-100...

Quote: what adhesive would be the best to use for re attaching the pads? ---- I like Aleene's Tacky Glue: Tack-It Over & Over .   There are several types of Aleene's so make sure it says Tack-It Over & Over.  I found that it dries well enough to hold the pads on good but it is designed...

I think all of the pads are made in China now.  The vinyl material that is the cover seems about the same.  The softness of the inner foam varies a bit as does the thickness.  The cost really varies.  For the Sennheiser 075527 pads I bought as possible HP-1 replacements, they cost around $20...

I took a picture of the three I like. I also took a picture of the replacement candidates with an original YH-1 ear pad.   The original Yamaha ear pad does have a little bit larger outer diameter.  It measures about 7.4cm.  The inner diameter is 3cm.

I have tried a few different replacement ear pads for the HP-1 and YH-1 Yamaha's.  Per Joop Nijenhuis' HP-1 refurbishment pages I used Sony ear pads for my first HP-1.  Those were Sony 211566702 ear pads. They work pretty good but seemed kind of pricey for what you get.  The dimensions of the...

I bought one of the Caig Circuit Writer pens last year for around $20 on Amazon.  I just looked it up and they still have it (Caig 4 grams CircuitWriter Precision Pen).  It is interesting to see dBel84's application of it....very nice.

Hi,   I refurbished a set of Yamaha HP-1 headphones in answering a thread over on audiokarma a couple of years ago. The details of the repair I documented here HP-1 refurbish.  Currently I have some Yamaha YH-100 headphones with one bad driver (right channel).  I verified that a signal is...
