Switched from flac to mp3
I havent deleted my FLACs but I am now only playing MP3s and just focusing on them. I enjoy music on the go and my clip zip has space constraints. I could have gone around that by carrying multiple micro-sd cards but the key decision influencer was battery life. With MP3s, my player lasts much...- jalva

Yet another guy looking for a new DAP
Quote: I am just responding to the Sansa Clip part of your post. I have a Clip Zip (not Clip+) and it can show colors and album art. The screen, however, is too small for the album art to really dazzle. I am also quite happy with the default interface and OS and reverted to it after...- jalva

Audio-gd Compass 2 amp/DAC Impressions thread
Thread bump - I am in the market for an amp/dac combo that could drive my active speakers and let me add some good headphones (HE-500, LCD2) later on. Would this be the device to go for in the $500 range? Other options are GF Tubedac 11, Yulong D100 mk2, NFB-10 etc. Or should I just buy a...- jalva

Meier Audio Daccord
Guys, I am a neophyte looking for salvation at ~1000USD so please be gentle with me. Is the classic+daccord combo good enough for LCD2, HE-500 and maybe even HD800 (less important)?- jalva

Best IEM ~$100 with specific sound signature.
Partial answer: Dont buy the $100 popular recommendation king i.e. RE0. The sound is not warm and it is clinical. Its a good iem with lots of detail but not your sound signature.- jalva

I am a noob, please be gentle with me! After using generics like airline earphones, bundled mobile handsfrees and EP-630 for a while, I decided to get something good. Bought RE-0, paired with my Samsung Galaxy S Wolfson DAC with voodoo sound and I was quite impressed. I was getting more...- jalva
