Hi, i bought a violectric v200 recently and wondered if i could use my ldmkiii as a preamp with it?

I would try to put the tubes in straight. They might have been moved during travel?

I disconnect from the power after I've finished listening.I guess it depends on your Fotografie skills how much the tubes are illuminated.

swap the tubes, see if channel silence follows!

ATM i'm using stock power tubes and 1x 1975 6N23P with an adapter Mikelap had built. The tubes you can see in the pic are C3G with an adapter. They are amongst of the best tubes for the MKIII.  

Welcome here on Head-Fi! Yes the Mullard 8100 are really warm. You can add more warmth and a darker sound signature if you add some Chinese Nanking 6SN7 tubes as power tubes . But you will also need adapters for the 6SN7 tubes. The sound will be really warm and dark.

I would just say stick with the EF95 type tubes and have no hassle changing jumpers. At least thats what i did.

those mullard 6ak5 should tame some of those highs. I think the 8100 are very warm, but i'm not sure if they are the ones.

you might need socket savers as extenders for your adapters.

hi, the hd600 headband fits.just if you want to pivot the cup in the upper half outward, which I don't see a reason to do, then the cup gets halted by the cup holders. So it fits.

If you could wait a week i could try a HD600 Headband with the HD565.

I think Mikelap has the HD800 and Mkiii combo.Why not ask him?

Yes these headbands are expensive! i was lucky once and found a HD580 for 70€ on german "craigslist". The convenience would be having a great Sennheiser(the HD580 drivers are the same as the HD600) and also being able to use the headband for the HM5/FA003. I can't tell you exactly how the...

Heres the HD650 headband in action with the HM5 cups. You can order the HD600 headband at sennheisers parts and spares service but it costs round 90€ here in Europe so should be around 90 dollars in America, although you could always pick up spare parts from the HD580 at Ebay or Craigslist...

The HD580/600/650 headband fits HM5/FA003 and is more stable than those plastic parts.

There are some C3G that won't work. See this page, which states there is an "old" and "new" C3G with different pin settings and voltage. http://www.radiomuseum.org/tubes/tube_c3g.html

you best start reading the tube rolling thread from the back forwards.The best tubes we have discovered are the C3G with adapters and the 6N23P also with an adapter.

I have them here and maybe listened 10hrs over Galaxy S5 and my tube amp. They have a decent bass and detail is very good. I had nothing bad to say about them but they didn't throw me off the carpet. They sure are worth their price and even perform above that range. As my most expensive IEM was...
