Parisian Meet Impression Thread !
It was indeed a great meet. Personally I was highly interested in listening to the akg k340 and enjoyed listening to them with their good and bad points. However ... the audio bliss came from the Stax Sr-507/sr323s. Previous time I had such an experience was listening to some Stax Lambda... -

Sonic Satori - HRT Levels the Field with the MicroStreamer
I mean that, connected to the USB port of a Synology NAS, it would be recognized by the NAS as a sound card. I believe the microstreamer II work that way. In that case music can be streamed directly from the nas drive. Lionel- lionel marechal

DACS Compatible with Synology nas directly with USB
I am looking for a DAC/Amp (a la Matrix mini, audio gd, ...) , 200-400$ max, that would be work directly though USB with my synology NAS. Smaller like HRT microstreamer are candidates as well (would it work?). Compatible : I have an old edirol UA25 and a HPDAC (built by misterX) that...- lionel marechal

The Sennheiser HD 25 Series
Hello Everybody, I got those .. they look great and sound great (read usual threads). At first highs sounded a bit agressive to my taste, but it disapeared after one week. depending on where you're from in term of headphones, highs might be surprising (compared to a HD650 for example). ...- lionel marechal

The HEADSIX, a Head-Fi support sales-action
It might be a silly question, but does the high gain position drain the battery more quickly ? If yes, any guess on estimation ? Lionel- lionel marechal

REVIEW: Audiotailor “Jade” Vacuum Tube Headphone Amplifier
Hello, Is this product still supported and sold ? Audiotailor website is ... hem ... better not to talk about it. My thoughts would be to use the Yang output for my HD650 and the Yin one for the RS2, which is why that product seems great to me, for that duality. I have already a...- lionel marechal

iBasso D42 "Mamba" with dual dacs! !! Hey Hey! Improved Starting on Page 76 .
This must be the behavior (no active usb audio on the USB cable would allow to power by usb and amp the aux in). And maybe the earlier model behaved differently. As a note, ibasso has confirmed that the amp can be used alone, on USB power and amplify the signal from the line in. ...- lionel marechal

iBasso D42 "Mamba" with dual dacs! !! Hey Hey! Improved Starting on Page 76 .
Hi there, Sorry, I am not sure to understand. Does that mean that if USB isconnected (for power) then the amp will amplify the USB audio and not the line in ? I am interested in having the possibility of using the amp alone (in usb powered mode). Thank you Lionel- lionel marechal

iBasso D42 "Mamba" with dual dacs! !! Hey Hey! Improved Starting on Page 76 .
Thanks, Which means that connecting the USB for power is not going to 'force' the signal path to come from the DAC ? (sorry if I look to instist a bit to be sure !) Maybe that's for the D2 that I saw something like that then. I am asking because I might be in situations where I want to...- lionel marechal

Hello, I think I saw it somewhere in the thread but could not find it anymore. Can the D4 amp be used alone, powered by USB (as in amplifying an external signal, not using the DAC)? Thank you! Lionel- lionel marechal

Arnold Schoenberg
I would go for Pierrot Lunaire as well. I have the Schaffer/Boulez version and enjoy it a lot ( 'a lot' for a schoenberg piece). I have tried some others but like this one. If the voice irritates it but you feel some connection, try an other version. As it is a 'sprechgesang' piece,the...- lionel marechal

Sennheiser IE6 -- the forgotten IEM
I went for the IE6 and do not regret it at all. My concerns with the IE7 were mainly the fit and the sound leakage (not isolation), I am happy with the IE6, medium plugs did fit right away the same way as my cx300 do. They leak 'just a little bit' more than the CX300, but not much...- lionel marechal
