Just got my new K501s, and I love them. I was a bit concerned they might be bass shy, but they have ample, much more than my old Audio-Technica ATH-70 electret phones. Seems to be a very balanced sound, and very 3-dimensional. I'm not using an amp - that will come later, but still very happy...

I am intrigued by the many varied comments on the W100. While I am almost sold on the 501s as my next purchase, I am wondering if the W100 has certain similarities but perhaps deeper bass. While I am sure they are very different headphone experiences, I would be very interested to hear opinions...

I am intrigued by the McCormack Micro Integrated Drive (MID), but found information on it very hard to find (the McCormack website doesn't seem to mention it). Can anyone describe what this drive is and does? - a picture or two would be nice. Thanks

I am considering what is around (here in Australia) in the way of cheapish headphone amps. A few places have puched a QED amp, which I know nothing about - anybody know about it. What about the Creek models - are they to be recommended? I am considering K501s to replace my old Audio...
