Why do people prefer RCA in/output over single-ended?
After reading threads in head-fi for a while I realized that many people prefer RCA in/outputs over single ended, and almost all amps above a certain price range(especially non-transportable) also features only RCAs. So does RCA have an intrinsic technical advantage over single ended...- CSMV

Bit perfect output with Foobar
I tried precisely same thing with my MicroDAC, and all I got after hours and days of struggling was a massive headache. I finally gave up and went optical - THEN I knew where my $270 went. Optical input sounds simply gorgeous. I spent $50 on the cable for my stupidity and impatience and...- CSMV

Wait, if I use my Playstation2 with the DAC...
OMG can't believe I didn't try this the first time I got it... So this is what head-fiers call night-and-day difference. I've been doing disservice to the DAC and my ears all along. I'm ne'er goin' back to the crappy USB hassle again P.S.: Don't get me wrong though, I know USB...- CSMV

Wait, if I use my Playstation2 with the DAC...
Ok, so it would be far worse than optical out from decent CDPs, but it should still be much better than the non-bit-perfect, K-mixer processed signal from my laptop's USB audio, right? Well if not, than I can just forget about it- CSMV

Wait, if I use my Playstation2 with the DAC...
While still working with the ASIO stuff, I suddenly realized that I also have a playstation2, which has an optical audio out... So if use this with my DAC, there should be no difference if I used a $1000 CDP instead, since all it does is reading 0s and 1s in a digital signal. Right? And...- CSMV

So yesterday I found out that I wasn't using ASIO after all and I'm constantly failing with foobar and winamp, but I still haven't gave up achiving (USB) bit-perfect with my MicroDAC.... So is there any other media players which works perfectly with ASIO4ALL and is easy to tweak the...- CSMV

Did I fry my brick??
Ok, I got a fresh set of 9V alkalines and the DAC is working fine, so it must be the brick malfunctioning. I was quite worried if something was wrong with the DAC itself... Didn't even have it for a week, lol- CSMV

How well do DT880s block out external noise?
I've recently read a lot of posts about DT880s, and I'm thinking that it might be my next audio purchase if I don't decide to go electrostat. Just one thing I'd like to know - how well do these cans block out outside noise? It doesn't have to be 'isolating' like IEMs, but I started using a...- CSMV

How can I know if I'm using ASIO output or not?
I spent hours rambling around downloading all sort of ASIO applications causing problems while not knowing what I'm doing, and all of a sudden the volume on wimamp is fixed and nothing happens when I change the volume on winamp or windows. So I'm suspecting that I somehow got the ASIO...- CSMV

Did I fry my brick??
I just tried use my MicroDAC and it wouldn't turn on. Tried switching back and forth between battery and external, plugging the brick into difference places and it's still dead. Actually my brick smells like it's toasted inside but I have no idea if it used to smell like that (didn't...- CSMV
