Brand Spanking New A&K AK120II and AK100II
I can confirm it (AK100II) does not read cue-files. A real bummer.- AWRog

CoiL, just reverted to Irr off and the higher CPU speed, the ticks have definately gone away (24/192). Slower response is no issue, just stop playing and the responsiveness is back again.- AWRog

CoiL, also with Irr ON and CPU speed @ 312kHz an occasional (not less than with Irr off) tick can be heard (not very loud). The ticks occur randomly and are not present in the source material (Rachmanoff piano concerto no. 2).- AWRog

Hi, I used Sound Unlocked_1.3.3 with CPU 312kHz setting. I noticed random ticks listening to 24-192 flac tracks. (also browsing the directory on my SD card while listening got really sluggish (I can imagine why )) Changing the CPU speed to the higher CPU frequency made the ticks...- AWRog

Ipod classic - rockbox - its happening.
To successfully connect I do the following: 1. disable any virus scanner (it will trash the connection) 2. use the fallback image 3. make sure the battery of the IPOD is fully charged! (yes, it's a new battery) To me it was amazing to experience the third point, connecting with a...- AWRog

Quote: You should really do that from outside Rockbox, it is not that difficult. Most filemanagers have an option/command to save a list of files into a textfile (=playlist). Another program that does wonders is foobar2000, it has some really great tools available for updating...- AWRog

It's in my question: the links compares two IPODs with original Apple firmware: http://homepage.mac.com/marc.heijligers/audio/ipod/comparison/measurements/measurements.html- AWRog

Is there any information available on a comparison of sound-quality between the original IPOD firmware and Rockbox firmware?? Something like this. I was unpleasantly surprised to read the 6G performed quite badly compared to the 'old' 5G I sure hope Apple has improved the 7G.- AWRog

Some more details: FAT32, my 5G Video contains 7306 files, 4.7 GB free of 55.6, pretty crowded, that may make a difference...- AWRog

Sounds normal to me. What I occasionally experience is a crash/hick-up due to the large amount of data (flac) I copy to the IPOD HD. To prevent it from happening I limit the transfer rate. Otherwise great sound, great OS for the IPOD!!!- AWRog

Be aware that it takes a LOT of time for your computer to recognize and mount your Rockboxed IPOD (with or without emCORE). It takes my laptop (ASUS i7 Quadcore, 8Gb) minutes to recognize my IPODS (5g Video and 7G)! Just wait patiently, you'll see it will eventually show up!- AWRog
