im wondering if i have these 'new' 650's, as i wouldnt describe them as dark at all, really. nowhere near what i was expecting anyway.

i just got my hd-650's about a week ago. Fantastic sound to them, now to build a headphone amp.....

mach3 bass is centered at 70hz. its' absolutely useless imo. it should have been centered nearer 30hz

im having a hard time figuring out what you mean by a distant sound on the sony's. the sonys have the usual warm and involving sound, which i wouldnt describe as distant at all. unless you are talking the midrange when you turn mega bass right up, that makes the player far too bass-heavy...

the problem with the iphone, is that you can buy it and not put it on the contract at all. to buy an iphone and put it on the contract here (which is with O2 in the uk) used to cost £269 (8gb iphone) for the handset and £35/month for 18 months = £899. bloody expensive in other words lol...

best phone for music is the iphone if you have a good pair of earphones. nothing else phone-wise will touch it. not the w810i, n95, n91 - none of them
