Question about open headphones (Sennheiser HD 598)

I really want to upgrade my audio setup eventually. Schiit Stack + $200ish headphones. Debating between the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 80ohm or the Sennheiser HD 598.   From what I've gathered: The DT 770s are closed and sound more fun. They're also supposed to be extremely comfortable. The HD...

Looking for a "fun", comfortable pair of headphones + a soundcard/DAC for under $199

I've made a couple threads already, but figured I either posted in the wrong place or used the wrong words.   So I'm looking for new headphones for the holidays. My budget is absolutely no more than $199. I'm looking for headphones good for movies, gaming, and all genres of music. I'm not...

Looking at the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 -- does it ever go on sale?

Bump.   Thanks for the recommendations. Most of those look like they're barely within my price range, though. I'm hoping to comfortably fit a pair of headphones and a good cheap soundcard or DAC within $200.   I wonder if Black Friday will slash prices on something good.

Looking at the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 -- does it ever go on sale?

So I'm looking for new headphones for the holidays and figured my budget would be a strict $200. These seem to have everything I want. They look comfy and I hear they have a "fun" soundstage. I'm looking for headphones good for movies, gaming, and all genres of music. I'm not planning on doing...

Looking for a new headphones setup for the holidays; $125-$200 budget

Still looking for some input.   Not sure what to get yet. I want something that sounds "fun" and is comfortable to wear for long periods. I'm not sure I'll need an amp or DAC unless the recommended headphones are "notorious" for needing them. With my current headphones, I don't notice any...

Looking for a new headphones setup for the holidays; $125-$200 budget

Thank you both for the replies.   I looked at the JVC HA-S680s. From what I read, I'm guessing they're on-the-ear headphones? I did read that I could install the HM5 earpads to make them over-the-ear (I prefer over-the-ear), but I read your comment saying that you prefer the stock earpads. Why...

Looking for a new headphones setup for the holidays; $125-$200 budget

So about a year-and-a-half ago I made a thread asking for cheap headphones recommendations. In the end, I went with the JVC HA-RX700. I'm thinking of getting something better for the holidays this year. Unfortunately, I don't know what to get.   Here's some background info: I really like...

Affordable (~$50) gaming headphones (NOT headset; don't need a mic)? Please help

Thanks, I'm taking a serious look at the Samsons. How long is the cord? My friend is looking for a pretty cheap but nice set of hps, so I'll probably recommend the Panasonics. That review seems to make them out to be good, especially coming from an audiophile.

Affordable (~$50) gaming headphones (NOT headset; don't need a mic)? Please help

So my full-size hps just crapped out. I'm tight on money so I'm looking for a good set of hps that aren't necessarily god-tier but they won't incinerate my wallet. I've lurked here a couple times and you all seem like a pretty good bunch to ask this to, so I thought I'd try. - I'm a total noob...
