New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)
I own these headphones and keep them on my desk uncovered. I recently noticed the membrane has some particles perhaps dandruffs. How can I clean it without damaging it? (Image is for illustration, not my set.)- matti620

Are there any rock/pop recordings which sound good on a hi-fi set?
Most albums sound flat and non-layered to me as opposed to some (rare) live recordings such as Leonard Cohen Live in London or Metallica Unplugged (noisy but has realistic ambiance). These live albums sound more layered with better soundstage. Is it because paradoxically the recording of live... -

Which headphones handle very fast, complex music better: Sennheiser or Grado? [and NOT just hard rock!]
The representation of distinct layered is another way to say it has good soundstage.- matti620

What gives a HP a speaker-like presentation?
Obviously there are no perfect headphones and there are many things to look at, so say I'm looking for HP which deliver speakers-like presentation as my current HD650 do. Which attributes make a HP so? From your experience do some HP successfully sound more "live" than that or mimicking speakers...- matti620

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Has anyone felt the HD650 are sligihtly laid back and dark? I'm looking for a new headphone to explore. With the HD650 I feel there's zero fatigue but also the presentation is slightly too dark to feel really engaged by the music. The natural move from what I read would be to the HD800 but...- matti620

Benchmark DAC1 - which input to use?
I tried the exact same combo in Windows and it sounds fine. The noise is only in Linux (but running the command in step 4 fixes it). The Benchmark is the best I've heard but I find it a bit hard to justify the 5% improvement in sq for x4 the price...- matti620

Benchmark DAC1 - which input to use?
UPDATE: I bought the external sound card with the SPDIF output and now there are small low volume ticks repeating in constant rhythm... What could be the reason? Currently I'm running PC --USB-> external sound card (ENCORE ENMAB-8CM 7.1) --optical-> Benchmark DAC1 --unbalanced-> HD650- matti620

Benchmark DAC1 - which input to use?
OK thanks. It looks like the optimal option, but unfortunately only the former is available locally. Will it convert the digital signal to spdif in higher frequencies than 48Khz which is specified? It's unclear from the specifications. Otherwise I can't see any cheap way to convert the signal.- matti620
