Gold A-1 Build with Pics
I just finished the break-in of the A1-Gold. I have the naked card, still to be put in a case. I 100% agree with the impressions of Sarals. This amplifier has a lot of muscles! I tested it with Superlux HD662 and HD668. The sound is satisfactorily clear and detailed and the dynamics is...- AF115

Audio-GD NFB-12
Quote: Interesting information. Thanks! Anyway, I'm not surprised neither reactive about that. Many widely appreciated DACs use (lousy) opamps in the output stage to filter/amplify the signal... At least in NFB-12 there are no caps on the path. P.S. IMHO and according to my...- AF115

A short (audiophile) guide to Winamp (/w Maiko WASAPI)
A specific contribution for the owners of DACs that have inside the chip TENOR TE7022L and still use Windows XP. At last I found an ASIO driver - instead of the not so satisfactory ASIO4ALL - that can works flawlessy in Windows XP: I tested it in connection to Audio-gd NFB12 and Prodigy...- AF115

Superlux HD668B - a tweak for some more comfort
I don't know if it's possible to replace the pads of the wings. But surely you can very easily replace the earpads of HD668, HD662 and HD681 with the ones of the AKG K-240/270/271 (e.g. you can see here). I did that with a big improvement in comfort. In my lousy pictures, above, it's...- AF115

You can download the datasheets of the Tenor chips from the manufature's website, Galaxy Far East Corporation: http://www.gfec.com.tw/tenor;jsessionid=3716E1269CF40555F14E29D41DDD341F- AF115

Audio-GD NFB-12
Quote: In Audio-gd's website the NFB-12 is not in the list of the DACs that can have that upgrade. And looking at the pictures the upgrade needs some DiY skills. But there are several Asynchronous USB external transports already available (e.g. WaveIo, Aqua, Hiface...) and more and...- AF115

Great job, BleaK. Thank you! Being a keen user of Winamp, you have brought me the last missing piece to forget Foobar without any regret The plug-in is rock solid with the Tenor TL7022 transport (used in Prodigy Cube and NFB-12 DACs).- AF115

Audio-GD NFB-12

Superlux HD668B - a tweak for some more comfort
I keep on liking these headphones, that gratify me with a good deal of good music. But I don't like at all their little wings, Audio-Technica style: they press too much on my parietal bones and don't give enough support. So, after some time, they tend to slide down and to compress the upper...- AF115

Audiotrak Prodigy Cube - OPAMP replacements
I currenly use the LM4562. Very good dynamics and clear sound. I tried OPA627 but my ears did not like it. Its sound was not brilliant as I expected. I would define it "boring" :-)- AF115

Audio-GD NFB-12
Thanks, KimLaroux! Your solution of drilling the bottom of the case is simply brilliant! Actually the impressive heat of NFB-12 worried me a bit in the beginning. I've been reassured by Kingwa about its harmless. Actually I found that most of the heat is generated by the voltage...- AF115

You are both right. Thank you for your feedbacks. I'm a rookie in the forum and I just wanted to add myself to the owners of that gear but the software made me fill the review :-) Anyway, I own a NFB-12 since June 2011. And here are the reasons of so many stars. Audio quality: it brought my...- AF115

Audio-GD NFB-12
Hi. I'm another happy owner of a NFB-12. After reading around and having done some tests I'm currently using it set to 4X oversampling , Minimum phase 'soft-knee' filter. I'm curious to know which filter other owners prefer (and why). Thanks.- AF115
