    Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread

Thanks for the reply. I bought the regular Ivory open, not the special edition. It seems to have slightly more bass than what I remember of the 598 but this is only going on memory. I'm just wondering if the manufacturer might change the sound slightly on the same model over a period of years...

    Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread

I have a question; just bought the HD598 and it seems to have more bass than the HD598 pair I was listening to 3 years ago that I gave away..Is it possible that the tuning or amount of bass could have changed on the Headphone during that time by the manufacturer or is that unlikely?   Thanks.

AD900, AD900X versus HD598 -bass and speed comparison

Thanks for the feedback. I have heard good things about the AD900 and am leaning towards getting that one instead of the newer AD900X, as more bass than the HD598 may be more than I want. That is if the X does have more bass than the Sennheiser, and am not sure -which is why I posted. Has anyone...

AD900, AD900X versus HD598 -bass and speed comparison

Hi,   I'm planning on purchasing the AD900 or the AD900X soon, and am wondering how the bass and speed on those compare to the HD598, which I like. It's my understanding the HD598 does not have a lot of bass in general terms, but I like the amount it has, as I'm not a bass-head and don't...

    Sony NWZ-F806 mini review (& F-series player reviews / impressions / discussion)

Thanks for the answers. I like the SQ of the Sony E345 just slightly better than the clip, which is a bit congested, so the F seems like it will be a good match for my hearing.  Can the wireless on the F be turned off? This would just be for music for me, so don't want a wireless signal for no...

Quote: Anyone have the answer to this? I'm thinking of buying an F series but wanted to know. Any help would be appreciated.

    Sony NWZ-F806 mini review (& F-series player reviews / impressions / discussion)

Hi, I'm considering purchasing one of these, but had some questions.   1) Would you say the F series has more power, less power, or the same, for driving headphones compared to the Sansa clip+?   2) Is the SQ noticeably better than the clip+ or the Sony NWZE345?   3) Some of the...

Headphone questions -earbuds, full sized, and portable

I meant the HD 25 - probably got the number confused by the 50 -on the 1350

Headphone questions -earbuds, full sized, and portable

Thanks again for the responses.   I’ve narrowed it down to the HD 50 (not sure which HD 50), and DT 1350. Can the Sony Walkman NWZE345 drive these, particularly the DT 1350? I’m sure an amp would help the 1350, but would the headphone work well enough without one? What spec would I look at...

Headphone questions -earbuds, full sized, and portable

Thanks for the replies.   I don’t like iem’s, so it’s full sized or non-ear-canal earbuds.   My budget for earbuds is about 200 tops, full sized headphones 4-500 tops if it is worth it. Those of you who are knowledgeable on this, might have a good idea you can share where the point...

Headphone questions -earbuds, full sized, and portable

Hi, I’m not all that knowledgeable about headphones, although have been listening to them since the first walkmans came out in the 1980’s. My favorite pair of Sony MDR 888LP earbuds are discontinued, so I’ve been searching for something new.  The Senn MX880 that I got were a huge...

    Best Sony MDR 888LP replacement?

Hi,   I just discovered that the Sony MDR 888LP headphones are discontinued, which I have really liked. What would the best replacement be for these (top of the line or near that), that would have the same essential design? By that, I mean the older ear-bud design that does not go into the...
