Have a Creative sound card and a usb dac with an optical input (audioengine d1). Would I get better sound quality from using the optical output from the soundcard to the dac or would it be the same from over usb? I know there is less noise with optical and higher quality.  I'm still very new...

Sorry, I'm a little new here. I am looking to buy a 3.5mm extension for a pair of head phones. I bought one from best buy, and its like night and day, they sound like pure junk. Gonna return them tomorrow. Can anyone suggest a good 6-10ft extension for me? Please let me know, thanks.
