Yeah you should replace it asap i mean there is no point waiting it will only ruin your sound. Cables are cheap they aren't expensive at all so no reason to hold back really.

Well it sounds like the same problem I have had in the past with my headphones. It probably is the cable, so all you need to do is just take them into some kind of hifi music shop and just ask them for a new cable, they should be able to help you out and they are usually more than happy for you...
