    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

After @rlawry changed the "umbilical cable" between his headamp and the Ti-1b I am about to try the same thing. I wrote to Lavricables and they can reterminate a Grand headphone cable I already own to a 4pin male - 4pin male (1,5 meter - which makes it possible for me to sit 3 meters from my...

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis

I found most passages like "the Suvara felt...subtly edgier" interesting and surprising. I didn´t manage to read the whole 15 sides - but it would be interesting to read more about a comparison between the SR1a and Magna. Srajan writes "the SR1a levelled me up again" (coming from his "favourite"...

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis

Now Srajan is into a really interesting comparison between Susvara and Magna with some (for me) surprising results. And this time he is easier to understand. https://6moons.com/audioreview_articles/raal-1995-magna-immanis/15/ I hope he gets the Immanis soon.

    RAAL 1995 Immanis

Are the Immanis forward sounding in the 1000-2000Hz region? And will there be a need of EQ-ing for peolpe like me who are quite sensible to hotter mids?

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

I get all this when the Immanis arrives. Will see what happens with the SR1A then. I like it very much, better than every headphone I listened to and I wouldn´t say it sounds to hot in my chain. It´s just the peak at 2000Hz which I personally didn´t like. I just was a little curious about how...

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

I have a Grimm MU1 which is only Roon compatible. I suppose there is no chance to export the filters into Roon.

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

As I mentioned - that´s just my ears which a really sensible to peaks in the 2000Hz region. So in my case I don´t think I could have solved the hotness issue in another way. My headamp already adds a touch of warmth.

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

As far as I know there is no way to try Mitch´s filter in Roon. You just have to buy it for 200 dollar. And this is too much for me not knowing if I will keep the SR1A.

See rlawry´s posts from the past days: the cable between the headamp and the transformer interface.

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

While waiting for the Immanis I took the opportunity to buy a used SR1A with a TI-1b. I needed some hours to adapt to the enormous soundstage (even if my Meze Elite with angled pads are not slough in this regard either). But as much as I tried - i became stressed listening to vocal music with...

Some more findings after you had more time to listen? How is the bass comparing the two cables?

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis

rlawry´s comparison of the the Raal stock umbilical cord with a cheap Pine Tree Audio cable let me wonder if there is a weak link in the Immanis-package https://www.head-fi.org/threads/raal-ribbon-headphones-srh1a.890603/page-517#post-18044001 But maybe Alex can give us more information about...

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis

Yes, I know. But @MokhaMark wrote that he got the Magna with a Star-8 "umbilical" cord. I expect that cable to be better than the stock RCD-XLR. So it should be an upgrade option at least. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/raal-ribbon-headphones-srh1a.890603/page-517#post-18044378

Will the Immanis be delivered with a Star-8 cable "umbilical" cord, the cable between the interface and the headphone amp?

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

Interesting! @rlawry can you show a pictue of your new cable? Which specs do I need to provide to an aftermarket cable manufacturer (I am thinking for example about Lavricables in Europe) to get the right cable? I also wondered many times why Raal offers the Star-8 as upgraded headphone cable...

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis

Just to be clear - it is possible to order the Immanis without the new interface and instead use it with the TI-1b which many of us already own- and the difference is just in form factor and not in sound?

It was from a guy on the german Open End Music forum who I trust and who was on the Heidelberg show. He promised to report more details today. But my point is not to inform about complaints of others but to ask about your own impressions.
