Need help choosing a circum aural headphone for mostly acoustic/vocal and classic rock.

I recently bought a pair of Sennheiser Momentums and although I really like the sound signature, for me these are on ears and very uncomfortable. I mainly listen to acoustic singer songwriter stuff (one person with their guitar) and classic rock (Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Jethro Tull). I don't...

    Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review

DannnyBai,   Which has a better soundstage, the Fidelio or theMomentum?

@Dsnuts,   Just out of curiosity, is it possible to plug in an iPod using the sync cable via the usb port?

Quote: I had similar results transplanting to the Koss dj100. The highs were actually a little too bright. I used the foam driver covers that were stuck in the s600 cups and with those over the drivers on the dj100 the sound balanced back out.

    Sennheiser Gains New MOMENTUM

Quote: Just adding my 2 cents. I agree that the driver makes just as much of a difference, if not more. Here is an example. I recently bought a pair of Koss dj100's strictly for doing a driver transplant. I listened to the koss with the stock drivers for a couple days and the sound was...

Review: Philips Fidelio L1 [Updated 5/14]

Quote: That's what I figured. I know Tyll at Innerfidelity took them apart but with his busy schedule it may be a while before I get a reply from him.

Does any one know if the drivers are angled or not?

Quote: From memory I would say no. When I get back to the house I'll see if I can find the s500 housing and give you some measurements/pictures. By the way, I still have a set of hd25 velours if anyone wants them.

    I guess that's a no.

Quote: For sound quality, me either. I'm now on the hunt for the perfect home for the drivers. I find myself skipping the sound quality sections of reviews and only reading about build quality and comfort/ergonomics.

I'm really happy I decided to try the s500 instead of getting another iem (fxd80). I now have a new hobby doing driver transplants and modding. Too much fun. The s500 drivers have worked out well in both of my projects. I'm contemplating putting them in the semi-open Fidelio L1.

Has any one taken these apart for modding yet?

Since I used the drivers from my s500's for a transplant I no longer have any use for the hd25 velour pads. If anyone is interested in them shoot me an offer via PM. Not looking for much.

Quote: I had the same problem. For some the velours helped. In my case, only a minor improvement. If you are even somewhat of a DIYer, a transplant is rather simple and you can get a pair of s600's for a couple bucks more than the velour pads.

Quote: I think the choice comes down to what results the end user is looking to achieve. Stronger and bigger = heavier and bulkier. The 750 weighs roughly 90 grams more and the s600 can also be found for about half the price. I personally have had great results with the s600. In the end it...

Quote: Correct. You can tell they are different  just by looking at them. The nanotube drivers have a clear diaphram where the traditional carbon diaphrams are a smokey black. At least on the s600.
