The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)
Quote: ^This. Most amps have some sort of digital in, I only ever kludged together a method for USB out when I was stuck without a proper optical-to-mini cable or when I was trying to output to two audio devices simultaneously (can't remember which honestly). Still a useful method...- SniperCzar

Best gaming Displays?
Yamakasi Catleap 2B. 27", IPS, 2560x1440 resolution, 120+ Hz refresh rate. Only downside is the absolutely massive amount of GPU power/VRAM it takes to hit 120FPS@1440p. We're talking dual 670s or a 780 for BF3, and that's with AA turned down. Definitely a future-proof monitor though. Barring...- SniperCzar

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)
Quote: That could certainly be it. My card in my rig is right in between a decent size RAID card and an even larger Intel NIC, so it gets a bit of shielding from both major sources of interference (PSU and GPU). The small metal cover seems to deal well enough with the other...- SniperCzar

Quote: I run a Titanium with the "play stereo mix through digital out" option flipped on to mirror the virtual surround over the optical out when the audio device is set to the speaker (not the SPDIF!) out. I run the digital out to a FiiO amp (E17) and that goes to my Beyerdynamic DT770...- SniperCzar

Best keyboards for gaming!
Currently saving up for my first mechanical keyboard, was eying a Ducky Shine 2 with Cherry Clears but now they're all out of stock. If Ducky makes a version of the recently announced Shine 3 with Clears... SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!! Around 3:00 is the fadeout reactive mode, just...- SniperCzar

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Rereading all the reviews again, I'd really love to pick up some Annies for gaming some day soon (sorry wallet), but I'd have a hard time rationalizing it. I feel like with the way I already have my Beyers amped and bass-damped (through my E17) the Annies are probably only a bit more...- SniperCzar

Quote: I use my E17 with my PC soundcard (X-Fi) which does virtual surround over optical out. If you're just using it for a console, you're not going to get that surround without a dedicated device like the mixamp. You'd probably do well to find something to tame the bass a little...- SniperCzar

Not familiar with the details, but I think there was at least one video going around showing serious overvolting deforming/popping drivers which caused mass panic and confusion. I think the problem was fixed pretty soon afterwards. As for 770 Pros, they work wonderfully well with my E17...- SniperCzar

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
Here's a thought, when the FiiO engineers do start work on the E15 again, is there any way to control the selected input/volume/EQ from a computer it's attached to over USB? I suppose the more practical question would be, am I the only one here who would use that?- SniperCzar

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
Those of you trying USB audio on your phones, are you doubly sure you're using the right OTG cable and powered USB hub? I thought of a hack the other day that I may try out when I get around to installing CM. I'm wondering if you cut the power lines on a USB cable and left the signal lines...- SniperCzar

Pictures of your computer rigs! Post them here!
The problem I've heard from oil PC lovers is if you ever need to get at the parts to plug something in or replace something that fails the oil gets really old REALLY fast. I think you actually can use deionized water as a coolant but it wouldn't last very long. Water is an excellent solvent...- SniperCzar
