All I can say is after owning both (HD650/DT880) for almost a year now (HD650 4 years), I am glad I dont have to try and pick one over the other. One day I think one is better the next its the opposite.- Heathen999

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.
Toxic is definitely in the running for sure. The only drawback to them for me is the importing thing, but they sure look nice and people rave about them. I have kind of settled on either Toxic or MoonAudio Silver Dragon. I have the Black Dragon on my HD650 and I really like it.- Heathen999

Denon AH-D7000
While I am not a one headphone type of person, I did part with my D7000's. I never listened to them that much and didn't really see the need to keep them when someone offered me a pretty good offer on them. To this day there is still times when I miss having them around. I would think long and...- Heathen999

Quote: Very interesting thoughts LugBug1. Maybe until I get my hands on the LCD2 I will just enjoy the "poorman" version. Then switch back to the velours for the differences you describe.- Heathen999

A little 80's Thrash being pumped through the HE-500 this morning. Considering the date, maybe I should be listening to Doom? Quote:- Heathen999

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.
Now that I have had my HE-500's for close to 2 months and all but the first week has been with the velours. After jerg's comments above I am going to go back and revisit the pleathers. I have felt for a while now that these are borderline being to bright for me, so maybe this will change that. ...- Heathen999

HE500 or LCD2 or both? (please share your impressions) Mini Review and POLL (please vote)
Very nice thread, nice to hear every-ones impressions. Those LCD-2's are very sweet looking LugBug1. I am currently enjoying the heck out of the HE-500's. Someday towards spring/summer I will be adding the LCD-2 to the collection. From there I will probably take the step to a balanced setup.- Heathen999
