u should consider Noble 4 because i don't think Heir 4ai's avaiable at this time. Due to my own experience. Phonak 232 is great upgrade for W40.( i sold my W4r and bought Phonak232 and keep them for 3 years till 2 cable of it broken and i purchase new cable :D, can not give t hem up ><)

I really tempted to reshell my Merlin into Universal form. After a year i realize that it's better to have Universal form for listening when i lie on my bed (most of time). Beside, the really did well on universal's design. I gonna throw 250 for it ><

i have probelm with noise background when pair with S4. due to the low impedance of merlin. And the sound is not transparant when switch to ip5s, the backgroud is clearly black.

i gonna purchase the xba h3 and will have impression of it vs pfe 232 and xba3. my local shop run out of xba h3, hope i'll get it by end of this month :( you should try as many as you can, such a waste to pay moẻ for an iem but it's doesn't meet your taste

i have both of them, few impresssions for you. pfe 232 is really great earphone, specially on treble, it has a lot of energy in treble but not a single harshness. soundstage noticeble bigger (and taller, i think it dues to the more extansion treble) and have better 3d feature than the xba3a...
