It blows my mind how many people think pre-fazor is the inferior or low-quality LCD-2. From my perspective, it's different strokes for different folks. Plus many people preferred the pre-fazor sound.

I personally don't want to have to shell out 300 for headphones and mod them right away, so I look forward to a revision 3 or M1060 successor. Interesting to see how the M565 stacks against the M1060.

Thanks for your impressions luvmusic! What I'm hearing is that the M1060 is a slight step down from the 400i and not necessarily the "LCD-2 killer" that we all crowned it for - however, that's not to say that Monoprice can't make refinements and release something in the 400-500 range to compete...

Well if Monoprice is smart, they will for sure revision the MMCX connections out if we complain loud enough.  As we spend more time with these let's keep that in the forefront, Monoprice is gonna need the push to give us what we want.

It makes me uncomfortable too, how you can change the core sound of a product so much, call it the same headphone and not offer the older model.  I don't want to own the LCD-2F and think what could have been, but i also don't want to buy two ~700 headphones used either.

And then everything I've read about Fazor vs. Non-Fazor is that the Non-Fazors are darker than the Fazor.... so how dark does dark get!?

and i want them to sound like a clone of the big planars just at a fraction of the price :P
