Pictures of Your Portable Rig (part XVI)

Hah, the HE-6 are in storage for now. Planning to pick them up some time this month. We'll have to do a meet so you finally get to hear them.

Great! I feel the C5 improves the ER4 on many levels (bass being one). I have mine set to medium and its just right.

Pictures of Your Portable Rig (part XVI)

A recent lifestyle change caused me to acquire a portable setup.   Clip Zip + C5 + ER4PT (with ER4S Conversion Cable)   Might consider a DX50 and cable upgrade down the road.

    HE-500, LCD2, D5000, DT770, SR80, on a speaker amp (Emotiva mini-X A-100) Project

Quote:   I was one of the few who heard the hissing. I noticed it on my HE-500s and DT770 (250ohm) with or without music playing. Oddly, I can't detect it with my HE-6s.

    HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone

Using the mini-x/he-6 for a month and really loving the combo.     I don't see a reason to upgrade unless I move the mini to my speaker setup.   Great performance for the price.

    HE-500, LCD2, D5000, DT770, SR80, on a speaker amp (Emotiva mini-X A-100) Project

May have a point, I don't think changing the impedances has an effect on the sensitivity of the headphones which causes the noise.     Both, music playing and music not playing. The hiss only gets higher when you get closer to 2 o clock. Anything below and it's a steady hiss.    ...

    HE-500, LCD2, D5000, DT770, SR80, on a speaker amp (Emotiva mini-X A-100) Project

Although I love the sound of the a-100 and he-500, I can't get over the hiss produced by the combo. I tested the HE-500s on my NFB-10.2 and it was dead silent so I assume the headphones are just too sensitive for it. I've asked others who own the HE-500/a-100 combo and they did not hear it or...

    HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone

Quote:   Were the pads a nightmare to put on? I went with the lawton audio pads for my HE-500s and like them very much. They slip right on the ring. I plan to put them on the HE-6 but I'm still curious about the Audeze vegans. Hideous as the vegans look on the HE-6, I bet they are very...
