Those don't come out until July. I'm wary of headphones geared towards gaming. The main function I'm looking for is music. Can you describe the sound? Comparison to other cans you've heard?

Headphones i've owed in the past are Denon D5000, Sony MDR-7506 and Sony XB-1000. The D5000 were the best headphones i've ever heard with my own ears. From a critical view, they were too bright and the soundstaging was too tight. MDR-7506s I used to like when I was newer to high end headphones...

After all my research and particularlty the Z Review, I think I'm going to give the Emu Teaks a try. But how reliant would they be on a headphone amp? I liked that with the D5000s they sounded pretty much as good plugged straight into my macbook pro as they did hooked into my mbox pro 3 audio...

Looks like Fostex TH900s can be gotten for $800ish. Any other competitors anyone wants to mention in that range?

I was thinking about giving the Fostex an order. Maybe the LCD-2 with it.   One thing I miss about my older cheaper headphones is they had a wide soundstage where as the D5000 sound is really tight. I long to have a comparable headphone with more space. What would you say?
