The tip of my 1/4" jack on my HE-500's just broke off inside my DAC!

Has this ever happened to anyone? What is the best way to retrieve the broken piece? Do you think Hifiman would replace the cable?   Pic: http://i.imgur.com/5KwiFqv.jpg

How do you fasten the leads of the HE-500?

The washer is recessed in the headphone itself so it's hard to tighten. I usually tighten it as much as I can, than physically turn the metal piece directly underneath to make it snug. Is this the correct way? Thanks in advance.

Anyone have experience with Audiotrak Dr. DAC2 DX Muses?

They have excellent connectivity and I've heard the sound quality is quite decent. I just want to make sure these will drive my DT 990 (600 ohm) competently. Thanks for any input.

I Have No Idea What I'm Doing, Please Help. (DT990 Amp/DAC)

I just bought a pair of DT990's(600 ohm), great right? Well I have virtually no knowledge of what an amp is, never mind a good one.   Here's the plan,   I want to come out from my Mac Mini with an optical cable, then connect directly to a combination DAC/Amp that is a great quality...

    Audiotechnica M50: First Impressions

I bought mine on amazon, which usually has the lowest prices and best reliability, they were $160 after everything. I received the package a few days later only to find out they were available in white and also in silver, I was too excited to care really, as black looks good for any occasion...

    Recommendation for noise-canceling headphones.

I need noise canceling headphones for work and would appreciate some recommendations. I work in a loud factory environment and am looking for headphones around the $100 mark. My only headphones are ATH-M50's and I don't really want to ruin those too quickly, I'm used to around the ear models but...

Could noise canceling headphones cause hearing damage?

Maybe someone with some technical background could answer this. I'm somewhat aware of how the technology works, the headphones let the ambient noise in, along with opposing frequencies in order to "cancel" the outside noise (correct me if I'm wrong). What I'm wondering is if letting both of...

Who else feels like the Sennheiser HD598s are unwearable?

I've had these things for 3 weeks now and other than the sound quality being no less than superb, the headphones themselves are terribly uncomfortable. The clamping force on them does not let up or break in, VERY uncomfortable on my temples, I feel a headache forming as soon as they're on my...

    Sennheiser HD 598: First Impressions

Sennheiser HD 598: First Impressions   As I pulled the headphones from the delivery box I was only slightly anxious, I had seen many reviews and unboxings online and knew what to expect. After inspecting the box for a moment trying to figure out how to open it, I realized the opening was...

WHAT SHOULD I GET!? HELP! (ATH-M50 VS. SENN HD-598)

I've been at this for about a week now going back and forth between the pros and cons of these two.   HD-598 I feel in love with these a year ago and have recently rediscovered them. I absolutely love the design but I also understand that is not what's important. The open ear design isn't...
