If the coil not damaged, you can take pliers and carefully push the contact pins down to the pin hole in driver plastic frame.   It helps you to reestablish contact between coil and pin.     BE CAREFUL!!!!   Best regards.

"No chain" means that driver is not working at all. But, you write that there is "floating connection". So, it means, that coil of a driver is not damaged. I think it is problem with contact pins. I will try to make a photo, to show you the way how to fix this problem.

The driver of the second series has a bit more bass at 80-120 Hz. Otherwise, they sound with no significant differences in the lowest and highest frequencies. The driver of the first series in the midrange 3000 - 6000 Hz sounds more clear and transparent, it does not have a peak at 4000 - 5000...

All vintage 70-s fnd 80-s koss has same 50 mm 250-ohm lavsan drivers. Model 4aa is most popular, and costs not much. You can buy this model in working condition on ebay for 15 - 20 us dollars and took drivers from it for repairing other vintage Koss phones, especially pro 4aaa.   Best regards.
