I would quite like to participate in a blind ABX test myself. Personally I'm siding with scientific findings on this one, but I'd also like to test some other things, like amps.        Also, arguably, maybe it's worth paying extra money for the placebo affect, it's not free :)

I don't think the m-dac has an amp. You should check that.

I don't recommend what the Head-Fier above me does, selling them on pretending they are genuine is really dishonest.   Just because some of the attachments are fake, that doesn't mean the headphones necessarily are completely fake. I once went to florence, near where gucci have a factory...

Do you have a decent DAC? I assume you're producing and listening using a PC, so I'd advise a DAC, as if you are just using onboard sound it will be quite poor. A better DAC would feed a better signal to the amp. You can find decent DAC/Amp combos.
