Brisbane NOVEMBER 2012 Meet
Gonna hijack this thread for the access to QLD head-fiers. The left driver of my FA-011 has stopped working with only a little bit of use. I'm wondering if anyone has the skills and materials to have a dig about for a possible fix. On the main FA-011 thread a Melbourne Head-fier said "You...- avoshake

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!
Quote: Is qusp a Brisbane head-fier? To be honest, if I can't find anyone in Brisbane I'd be happy to pay for postage for you to muck about with them if you could be bothered. Quote: Yeah that's been attempted. Fischer responded to an initial query and asked for photos. They've...- avoshake

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!
Run into an issue. The left driver of these headphones has stopped working (for no reason I can fathom) after probably under 100hrs of use. I'm reluctant to send these back to GD-Audiobase for warranty/RMA replacement due to reading a few horror stories and next to no positive experiences. It...- avoshake

The KRK KNS-8400: you can have it all.
FlySleep you're very good with words. I'm wondering how you would compare/contrast your 8400 with the FA-011 as I understand you did enjoy the latter as well, but they are certainly different phones. I own both and am curious to see how you'd describe them.- avoshake

Brisbane NOVEMBER 2012 Meet
Hey I'm definitely interested in coming. New to this headphone business and starving to listen to some cans and setups. I've got a KRK KNS 8400, FA-011 and e17 to bring along if that's what we're meant to do... :)- avoshake

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!
Could I clarify (I just finished reading through this whole thread), that one of the 'bad' batches was the dark/black wood with the straight cable? With extra painful highs and poorer quality bass?- avoshake

KRK KNS-8400 Review (Impressive $150 headphone)
Quote: Thanks a lot Zombie_X (if that's what I should refer to you as), I actually live in Brisbane, Australia, so I appreciate the offer for the foam but it'd be just a LITTLE too much effort for some pieces of foam ;). The KNS-8400 has been my first headphone and I've had it for 6...- avoshake

KRK KNS-8400 Review (Impressive $150 headphone)
Quote: Could you detail to me how much foam/what density material would achieve the same mod as you've done? Also I've noticed you own the HD600, it'd be a lot of help if you could did a quick comparison of the two for me. I'm looking into getting an open phone and HD600 is on the top of...- avoshake

Hey Windsor, really like the review. I'm wondering how you would rate the impact/presence of M50 bass compared to the HD600 as an open phone. I haven't had a chance to really listen to some decent open phones and am wondering how the bass differs between higher tier open phones vs cheaper closed.- avoshake

Quote: Thanks for the response. I'm listening to FLACs and 320kbs. I'm just wondering if there is any area in which the Senn HD600/650 may be lacking over the KNS 8400s? I understand the Grados are known for their speed while I have noted some observations that the Senn 600s can potentially...- avoshake

The KRK KNS-8400: you can have it all.
Hey guys, I've had these headphones for about 5 months now and have really come to enjoy their sound. So with this being the case, I was wondering if anyone could suggest...- avoshake

[EDIT] ignore this post, just read previous pages I'm looking for a relatively cheap/entry level portable amp/DAC for these... The KRK KNS-8400: you can have it all.
Just wondering if these headphones would be much of a hassle to wear around outside of the house... I've heard that they stay on the head well enough, are light and have moderate isolation. Probably the greatest use out of the house may be on the bus plus a short walk. Opinions?- avoshake
