Mine was the Koss Portapro.

.....but I'm keeping myself from opening it till Christmas. It's almost impossible.     What can I expect from the sound quality? I hear it has a flat response, but i've heard others say it's bassy...   it probably depends on what the person is used to listening to, right?

How long have you had them? Maybe you haven't burned them in enough

I'm a total newbie to this.   Can someone describe how headphone amps improve the sound? The only thing I know about it is that it "tightens" the bass.     thanks in advance!
