    Guitar-fi anyone?

As a guitar player, I guess I would be more of the Chi-fi guitar-fi type. Some have been modded, some are amazing stock: Above: Monoprice Indio 66 DLX. Sounded great stock, but I had a specific sound/style in my mind. Changed out 100% of the electronics. PAF Alnico 2 double cream Donlis...

Not your typical consumer-oriented V-shape signature. Once i got used to actually having mids in the music, I love 'em!

    Guitar-fi anyone?

While any "greatest guitarist ever" statement is a hotly debatable subject, I'd have a hard time coming up with anything to argue with here.

    Guitar-fi anyone?

Looks to be a Fender (or Squier) Stratocaster, but I am unsure of the specific model or country of origin. Do you know the name of the artist? That might help narrow down the specifics...

    Guitar-fi anyone?

I like having a bit more room between strings so that I don't accidentally mute open strings I want to ring out. I'm pretty sure this would be an end-game guitar if I believed such a thing existed. I subscribe to the X + 1 formula for the perfect number of guitars, where X represents my current...

    Guitar-fi anyone?

I had a NGD earlier this month. An Ibanez JSM10 John Scofield signature semi-hollow. I have wanted one since the 80s, and just pulled the trigger on this reissue of a 1982 AS200. I had the pickguard and truss rod cover off because I was inspecting the guitar and making adjustments to the truss...

Hmm... I find wide bore tips to increase treble and midrange, but mine are fairly shallow, putting the nozzle opening closer to my eardrum.

I use New Bee Large tips from Amazon. There are vendors on AliExpress who will supply tips in bulk at substantial savings as well. I also turn the foams backwards on the IEM nozzle to get a better seal and reduce filtering of the mids and highs a bit.

This nearly duplicates my experience, except that I prefer wide-bore tips. I use foams out of necessity but I prefer silicone on the rare occasion that I can get them to seal and keep from falling out of my ears. The IEM needs to be shaped right for this to happen, as well as being light enough...

I don't think our overly obsessed friend ever mentioned the EQ version. Stick with the cheaper one, lol.

I feel your pain. Every silicone tip I use won't seal and/or just falls out of my ears, especially on the relatively heavy ZS6. On most IEMs I've tried the only thing that works is foams, most of the time turned around backwards on the nozzle to get enough diameter to make a good seal. If...

Yes. Unfortunately for me, the only tip that sealed well was narrow bore, strangling the wow factor out of the sound. The Earphones Plus large tips I use are not only wide bore, but have a shorter distance than many others between the IEM nozzle and the front opening of the tip. Since I have...

I love the description of burn-in they included. Of the stock tips, the large "butterfly" worked best for me, but the generic wide bore I already had work better. Close second is large reversed foams.

At 8:34 into the video there is a segment about hearing frequency response. It goes a long way in explaining as to why we all seem to hear the same IEM differently.

Put some thicker ear pads on them to reduce the bass and low mids. Completely reversible as well. Don't those ship with 2 sets of earpads? Thin and thick?

The CM5 are still some of my favorites at the moment, but that may change over time, (or when I finally order the ZS10:ksc75smile:). I find them inspiring and musical. Gotta love the IEM addiction and the way we all hear things differently.
