The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..
Which of the new Monoprice IEMs are everyone most interested in? I'd be willing to try them for science but buying all three seems a bit silly, especially after hearing the extremely muddy discontinued Monoprice Sony-knock-offs from last year. Sound quality promised by descriptions...- DeliciousTea

legit or fake? Ksc75
Seems legit. Who would bother to fake a $15 clip-on anyway? Edit: Confirmed by this thread http://www.head-fi.org/t/258746/fake-koss-ksc75- DeliciousTea

Quote: Go shoot Monoprice an email about the buds with issues. They seem to be fairly good about replacing/refunding faulty earbuds, at least according to other posters in this thread.- DeliciousTea

Hand built custom headphones
Quote: What kind of enclosure did you end up throwing them into? I was almost inspired to give those drivers a try after stumbling onto your thread awhile ago and now I might just have to.- DeliciousTea

Could a modded T50rp best an HD650 (or come close to an LCD-2)?
The T50RPs are wonderful headphones for their price point and will scale nicely as you invest time/money into modding. However, the modded T50RPs that head-fiers compare to the LCD-2 are the fruits of tons of labor and countless hours of tinkering. I personally believe (after making several...- DeliciousTea

Hand built custom headphones
You might check out some of the DIY mod threads that have been floating around. You could probably throw a variation of the Stratokosster together for fairly cheap and have a head-fi approved DIY pair of headphones to boot. The information in the T50RP threads is based around a specific...- DeliciousTea

Best sub $125 "Giant Killers" Q40, RHP-10, RHP-20, DN-HP700, RP-HTF600-S, HD668B
Fostex T50RP, at least with mods. They cost $75 but with minimal effort can be greatly improved. They can also completely outclass anything in the sub $300 price range with extensive modding/wooden cups.- DeliciousTea

Beats Studio problem - distorted bass after 3 years
Good to know. Does the bass distort on both left and right channel? Also, do you have the same problem from other sources, i.e. smartphone, iPod, other computers? The only other cause I could think of is the audio jack on your computer biting the bullet.- DeliciousTea

Beats Studio problem - distorted bass after 3 years
If the bass is distorting consistently, you might have a loose connection in the cable or plug. Since the cable is detachable, you should try replacing it and see if it solves your problem. Also, in case you aren't trolling, beats are generally disliked around head-fi for having poor...- DeliciousTea

The StratoKOSSter – A closed DIY headphone based on the Koss KSC-75 driver and Grado cup design
Seconding everyone else on keeping the tutorials up, stratocaster. I'm still trying to tune a pair of these in my free time. On another note, would anyone trying to put together a StratoKOSSter be interested in an earpad group buy? I can only buy lampskin in large multi-yard rolls...- DeliciousTea

The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..
Quote: I honestly just stole a cable off of a cheaper monoprice IEM, which is about equivalent to iBuds cable. I don't think it made a difference in sound quality but I'd be curious to hear if anyone heard differences using Mogami or something else nice. Quote: To open...- DeliciousTea

The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..
Another possible mod is to put a bit of medium-density foam in the housing behind the driver. It seems to warm up the sound and even out the treble a bit while boosting the bass slightly. It might be able to fix the sibilance problems a few people have been reporting and opening up the...- DeliciousTea

The StratoKOSSter – A closed DIY headphone based on the Koss KSC-75 driver and Grado cup design
Thought I'd share my prototype StratoKOSSter/Thunderpants-inspired (blatantly ripped-off) mod to inspire others now that I know this thread isn't completely dead. The ThunderKOSSter! Or Stratopants. The design is essentially a scaled-down Thunderpants v1 with KSC75...- DeliciousTea

The StratoKOSSter – A closed DIY headphone based on the Koss KSC-75 driver and Grado cup design
Any thoughts on combining this mod with the quarter mod/Kramer mod, or resistor mod? The quarter mod makes the sound more forward/bright while adding resistors tightens up the bass. I've been using a heavily-modded KSC75 for awhile now and while I love the way they currently sound, I'm tempted...- DeliciousTea
