The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
my listening experience hasn't been fatiguing either, even after several hours of wearing them. i have a "modest" audio chain listed in my signature, maybe it's the tube in my schiit rounding out the sibilance.- atmospheric

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
just recently picked up some sennheiser HD800s, serial #25207. while the treble can be a bit much sometimes -- definitely not my go to headphones for EDM -- I haven't experienced the sibilance that everyone speaks about it, even in EDM. im mesmerized by the imaging capability.- atmospheric

Quote: if the commit is added to CM10 or AOKP it will be for the Samsung galaxy s 3, and will likely be compatible with the galaxy note II dude to their similarity. it could probably be ported to other devices without to much difficulty but this is not guaranteed. it really boggles...- atmospheric

Good news about Android phone supports digital audio output
Quote: we want this support in CM10 and AOKP so that CM10/AOKP compatible devices (most of them!) are capable of using USB audio. On the Samsung Galaxy S III USB AUO is only supported on the stock ROM/kernel.- atmospheric

Android phones and USB DACs
hey guys, support this bounty to have USB audio added to CM10 or AOKP http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1930664 ... you don't need to add $, just show your interest! if we can show that a large group of people are dying for this feature it will more likely be added.- atmospheric

The Audeze LCD-2 Ortho thread (New)
I've owned my Audeze LCD 2 rev.2s for around six months now, and just recently the left ear has begun to create a sort of scratchy noise at certain frequencies and just feels to under perform in comparison to the right ear. i have confirmed that this issue is not with the source or amplifier...- atmospheric

Red Wine Audio’s Audez’e Edition amp / DAC worth it?
at the price point of the RWA you might want to get something like that cavalli liquid fire, which is much more highly rated with the LCD-2s than the RWA amplifer, and then buy a seperate DAC. that said, if you're new to head-fi are you sure you want to throw down 4k on your first gear? you...- atmospheric

HE-400/HE-300 vs Sennheiser HD650/HD600
not as comfortable as the sennheisers, the velour padding is soft but they have more clamp and are considerably heavier. especially the HE-400 with it's planar magnetic drivers. Quote:- atmospheric

LYR and HRT Music Streamer II or bifrost?
i'd recommend purchasing a used cambridge audio DacMagic. I've compared it side by side to a lot of higher end dacs, and it stacks up really well. they can be purchased for ~350 used, which is a middle ground in your pricing too.- atmospheric

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)
@sniperczar, I'm using USB for my DAC as of right now. No TosLink on my motherboard. From what I understand, if I'm simply using the sound-card for DSP effects and then using optical out to feed digital music filter to my DacMagic I should take no performance hit. And even if I do notice some...- atmospheric

but is it really worth the effect? and do you think it would make any noticeable degradation in the signal chain? ... actually I might be able to use the soundcard for gaming, and switch inputs to USB on my DAC for music if windows 7 supports multiple digital sound outputs at a single time. my favorite album of his is Mir, it's a bit more dubstep influenced but i think it's wonderful. it's like dubstep but without the rough edges, and a much smoother sound. "One Day I Wish To Have This Kind Of Time" is wonderful. Quote:- atmospheric
