Been sitting here switching between the two (ER4P's and stock iAudio X5L's) and must admit my error. The Ety's are clearly superior. More dynamic. More frequency extension. Less haze. I guess I just needed to turn the volume up a little. (at lower volume the differences are less noticable)...

After further review, I probably should retract that statement. Jury is still out, but I'll give them a fair shot.

Well it's not that their uncomfortable once you get them set. It's that they're so "touchy". I'm afraid other or modified tips won't address the other concerns such as the microphonics. So are the microphonics due to thin insulation or super sensitive drivers, or what??

I spent some time last night trying to decide which lossy format to use for miscellaneous, non-critical listening files using my iAudio x5. I did several A-B comparison between ogg and wma...and I really had a hard time telling the difference. I think I liked ogg a little itty bitty teenie...

The x5 has a 5 band EQ. It comes with 6 preset settings + a user's setting, however all can be adjusted to your preference. Nice feature.
