Reply to review by 'crawdaddy' on item 'Ultimate Ears BOOM'

I have one and love it.  Sounds better than any other BT speakers I've heard from friends.  Plus the durability and form factor are great.  Just got back from the beach with mine and no problems.  I also like the incorporated "D loop" which is great when hanging the Boom underneath your beach...

First Impressions of the new Beyerdynamic T70p

Thanks.  I have a Fiio E11 using an AQ Golden Gate iPhone to Line connection - using the 30 pin LOD and not just line-to-line, does make a huge improvement.   But to be honest the Fiio is just "ok" IMO.  I really cant tell much of a benefit versus just using the iPhone by itself.  Yes, there...

First Impressions of the new Beyerdynamic T70p

Hello from a fellow t70p owner!   I'm considering buying a AQ Dragonfly or Meridian Explorer to go with my cans.  I'm wondering if anyone has tried the combinations and make a recommendation.   As I understand it, the Meridian is widely viewed as superior, but can be sensitive to low...

    Disappointed w these Ety ER4P's

Lots of good info. After some practice I think my initial disappointment is gone, and I'm happy with these IEM's. Keys to success: practice with the foamies, use of clip, route wire over my back. I used them over the weekend while mowing the lawn. Could still hear the mover but just a mild...

    Disappointed w these Ety ER4P's

Been sitting here switching between the two (ER4P's and stock iAudio X5L's) and must admit my error. The Ety's are clearly superior. More dynamic. More frequency extension. Less haze. I guess I just needed to turn the volume up a little. (at lower volume the differences are less noticable)...

    Disappointed w these Ety ER4P's

After further review, I probably should retract that statement. Jury is still out, but I'll give them a fair shot.

    Disappointed w these Ety ER4P's

Shirt clip does help. Hmm...well I'm sitting here at the computer listening and I gotta say...they may be growing on me. I'm listening to all my familiar toons to make sure I'm calibrated. Maybe I'll keep 'em around for a while and let them break in before sending them back.

Ouch! Oh, you said the eraser end didn't you! So why don't my other earphones suffer this issue?

    Disappointed w these Ety ER4P's

Well it's not that their uncomfortable once you get them set. It's that they're so "touchy". I'm afraid other or modified tips won't address the other concerns such as the microphonics. So are the microphonics due to thin insulation or super sensitive drivers, or what??

    Disappointed w these Ety ER4P's

Well I travel a lot for business and really want to upgrade my ear pieces. Noise isolation is a must. Small and compact is a must. Great sound is a must. After a little research I bought the ER4P's. I've got to say that I'm disappointed. Here are my complaints... 1. They have to be set...

    X5, X5L, 30GB, What's The Difference?

...and love it! The size and weight fit my hand well and it feels like a well built machine, i.e. like a serious piece of audio equipment that is built to last - not disposable consumer electronic junk. The raised screen never bothers me. The joy stick took some getting use to, but not a problem...

How do I rip an Enhanced CD?

Anyone know how to do this? Everytime I put the disc in my computer it opens to the "enhanced" stuff (videos). Can't seem to bring up the list of songs. There's got to be a way to do it. Any thoughts? Thanks!

    Difference betw ogg and wma?

Interesting how the codecs scored differently depending on the music being played. Hmm, will need to think about that. However good to know that on average Vorbis scored higher. Thanks!

    Difference betw ogg and wma?

I spent some time last night trying to decide which lossy format to use for miscellaneous, non-critical listening files using my iAudio x5. I did several A-B comparison between ogg and wma...and I really had a hard time telling the difference. I think I liked ogg a little itty bitty teenie...

    iaudio X5 line out...mmmmmm lol

I haven't had time to play with the line-out yet, but plan to try and hook it up to my pre-pro. I'm going to need to pick up an RCA adaptor though. Have you tried this yet? If so how'd it sound? FWIW, my home rig is...Rotel 1066 pre/pro > Odyssey Stratos Extreme Mono's > Martin Logan...

    Audiophile-Quality Portable

I guess you could call me an audiophile (really care about fidelity, have what I consider to be a pretty nice home rig with Martin Logans, and most of my friends think I'm crazy ) Anyway, I just bought the x5. From my limited use of the FLAC files, it sounds pretty darn good to me - far...

Recommendations - mp3 player with custom EQ?

The x5 has a 5 band EQ. It comes with 6 preset settings + a user's setting, however all can be adjusted to your preference. Nice feature.

X5L in my hot little hands

I'm still learning how to operate the x5...so I'll get there, but I'm thinking that "stop" and "menu" buttons would make the operation a little easier. I get confused because the joystick / button operated differently between Music and Voice for example. Also, the Jet Shell and Jet Audio...
