Budget headphones with minimal leakage & doesn't isolate (For Office)

I can recommend the Creative Aurvana Live. They have minimal sound leakage but relatively poor isolation compared to other closed-back headphones I tried. I use them at work for precisely these reasons, as they allow me to hear what's going on around me without disturbing anyone with my music...

    Shure 440's: Dissapointed

Are you using the stock ear pads? I bought the SRH440's last week and replaced the ear pads with those from the SRH840, which has been commonly suggested on this board and in various reviews. The 840 pads are thicker and tame the highs a bit and make the overall sound a bit smoother, at least to...

Thanks for that clarification. I was actually interested in their performance with jazz, so this was helpful.

    Best Headphones 75-100$

bowei006: how much do the SRH440 change after 200 hours? And what music do you listen to? I read many favorable reviews about the Shure's but also some  complaints that they are too bright and lacking bass. People obviously have different preferences but I was just curious about your opinion...

    Sennheiser HD280 pro vs HD448

Hi. I have been using the Sennheiser HD 448 for the last few months. They are very neutral, balanced and a bit bass-shy. If a strong bass is important for you, there are probably better options out there, I think. In terms of build quality, they feel a bit cheap and flimsy to me. I think they...

My Sennheiser HD 448 are gone... Any suggestions for a replacement?

Anyone? Sorry to bump this thread. I was just hoping to get some advice before investing in a new headphone (Shure SRH 440) without knowing how much it will improve over my old phones (Sennheiser HD 448). Unfortunately, there isn't any place close by where I could test them.   Thanks!

My Sennheiser HD 448 are gone... Any suggestions for a replacement?

Until a few days ago, I was a proud owner of the Sennheiser HD 448. Now my wife decided to use them at work I liked the sound signature of the HD 448 (balanced and relatively neutral) a lot and could simply buy a new pair. But I wasn't too impressed with their build quality (they were very...

Headphones for rock, metal and jazz similar to Sennheiser HD 448 but with more "punchy" bass

Did more research. I still couldn't find a direct comparison between the Grados and the Sennheiser HD 518, but it seems that the Grados are THE headphone for my music taste and something I can't go wrong with. So the Grado SR60i it is, unless someone has a better recommendation?

Headphones for rock, metal and jazz similar to Sennheiser HD 448 but with more "punchy" bass

Hi, My first post! Been lurking for a few weeks now and already used the search function. However, I am still undecided and a bit overwhelmed with all the options, so I decided to finally post a question. I mostly listen to rock, indie, metal, and (less frequently) jazz and classical music...
