19 custom IEM/TF10/Shure/IE8 cables reviewed (Effect Pearl, Apollo, & Odin added 3/20/13)

I have a cable from HPL/Chris_Himself silver plated copper that has gone green on the right earpiece connector. Although it has gone green, it hasn't affected audio quality (as far as i can tell). I'm just hoping it spreads evenly, and not just one side, so I don't look like a monster with...

you! we have similar 535s :P red sheathing, except mine has a neutrik instead of an oyaide!

Shure SE846: A New In-Ear Flagship From Shure. Finally! (Impressions p26-28)

These are far beyond the price range of the aero and mage. However, I'd say they'd more realistically be competeing against the KH3003 and other $1000 universals more than anything.

Shure SE846: A New In-Ear Flagship From Shure. Finally! (Impressions p26-28)

my main issue fro moving form the 215s to the 535s was that the bump in the rear of the housing made it a bit painful for me to push into my ears at times. apart from that, love them to death.

Quote: imo, from an appearance standpoint, I don't find yellow to go well with IEM/CIEM or otherwise. Black/Clear/White seems to work the best.

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

It makes it hard to move it around, so there's really only one way it can twist. A few people who have ordered sheathing have sent them back to be removed, as far as I now. I keep it on, since i use the 535s for home listening, and TF10s on the go, so it's not a big deal for me.

They're mostly the same. The two plugs being the Viablue right? The Viablue is much more rugged and sturdy than the Neutrik connectors. I went with a neutrik (I didn't need the awesomeness that is Viablue). I also got sleeving. The newest photo in the photo gallery for this thread is the set of...

His pricing is extremely reasonable as it is. I really don't think there's a need for coupons :P

good luck finding another pair of TF10s. Being discontinued may have jacked up prices if you're not buying from Amazon. From what I read, the UE900 isn't very similar to the TF10, but I believe that it's worth trying.

Sunricky's cables on eBay are not bad. Also worth looking at Chris_Himself's cables as well if you're looking to spend under $100. Ultimately though, the lifetime of your cable depends entirely on how you handle them.

I was very fortunate. Bought mine for $150, only used twice. I would have to agree. Vocals aren't that great on these compared to my 535s, and they sure as hell aren't as comfortable, but they're still a joy to listen to.

I'd say get the Dark Lord. You can get the White Angel if you prefer the clear cable.

i had some microphonics for my cable on my 535s, but that was just minimised entirely by making sure the memory wire supported area is as tightly against your ear as possible. if that's tight enough, it should be alright.

Quote: I can't find the star tips anywhere near down under. Would really like to try them though.   Chris_Himself makes good cables for the 535. They're decently priced, and he's willing to work with you on prices if you so desire, and the audio is (imo) a bit better. Soundstage is...

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

I'm pretty sure this is just the microphone cable that you can actually buy from Shure themselves. It seems like it, at least. I had to get use the sound. It's so nice and natural with a lot of the music that I listen to which I'm really happy about. Well, it depends really. If you're...

    Which IEM should I get?

You could try looking for the 535 LTD-Js. They're essentially 535s with the treble more or less fixed. (New might be out of your budget though)

Does anyone have a preferred way of wearing the TF10s? I find them extremely hard to get a good seal in place normally, so at the moment I've switched L/R cables to the opposite earpiece, and wearing them so they're smooth against my ear, but is there any other way of wearing them that would be...
