Headphone cables & my findings
I am more than happy for people to say that, but if the WA2/WA22 are supposedly amazing for the HD800, then theres no real arguement there tbh. I believe the HD800s are rated around 500mw per driver or something like that? cant remember, anyways it doesn't matter.. my explanation pretty...- Gabrielisc

Headphone cables & my findings
So after being annoyed by not understanding why 8x24AWG or 4x18AWG + 4x22AWG single ended cables existed I had to do some research. Firstly, if you disagree with the below, feel free to contribute, however please do not start a flame fest. Ok so to start I did the current requirement...- Gabrielisc

ONKYO DAC 1000 32/192 USB asynchronous
This thing would look stunning in black, is it 100% certain it won't be going anywhere but japan ? http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/avac/item/dac-1000/ $697 AUD + $82 AUD shipping... For $800 this is quite a decent DAC, according to specs only ofc.- Gabrielisc

WDS-1 and WTP-1: The New D/A Converter and CD Transport from Woo Audio
Interesting, the WA2 should almost be able to fit on top of the WDS-1 but not in a straight orientation as in H*W*D: DAC 84x230x320mm WA2 140x330x230mm not sure if anyone cares tbh, but i prefer the idea of stacking rather than separate shelves for different items.- Gabrielisc

DIY Cable Gallery!!
Sorry to be a pain, anyone got a diagram of how the HD800 connectors work/connection diagram? I get the 1/4" quite easily, but before I start I want to make sure I know how to do the works. also when people use 8 strands for SE rather than 4, do they just double each connection?- Gabrielisc

DIY Cable Gallery!!
guys I want to make myself a SE cable for my HD800s, just wondering how many meters of cable would i roughly need to get 4-6 feet of cable, going for braid style (much like alo), so assuming worst case 4 meters of cable per length, 2 left channel, 2 right channel = 4x4 = 16 meters of...- Gabrielisc

Quote: It may be a good idea, however realize that there is a lot more effort. As an Electrical engineer myself id recommend you get a bloody decent solderer and practice your soldering skills because in my eyes thats the biggest issue (bad conductivity/overheating components and...- Gabrielisc

Looks really nice, just wish it wasnt "black accent" rather than Black frame/ so it would match a black WA2/WA22- Gabrielisc

Quote: So purrin, i see you chose the PS PWD as a dac, what would you range your DACs of choice around the 500-1000 range or do you think that the difference is so massive between a 1k dac to a 1.5k dac that make it justifiable? For example, one could get a PS link 3 for $500...- Gabrielisc

Last night I sat with my Asus essence xonar one & my friends littledot mk3, at the same price range they run quite a good comparison of ss vs tubes (IMO). Using the Essence ones DAC via ordinary RCA to the littledot mk3. I had noticed that tubes are amazing... for some...- Gabrielisc

I've got a pair, and for anyone who is concerned, they are far from flaky... very solid. Just a general note though, I find pushing the top of the earphone once its in the correct positions assists in placing the headphones parallel rather than angled on your head.- Gabrielisc

Review: Violectric HPA V200 amp
Oh come on, 1 email and 3 hours later: "The HD800 will sound best with all our amps. But in my opinion the V200 will be better suited for the HD800 than the V181. HD800 does not need the extra portion of power that the V181 might deliver compared to the V200 because the HD800...- Gabrielisc
