Thank you everyone for your kind replies. I was so frustrated i just reset everything to factory settings and viola, the freezing stopped, for now that is. The insanely quick battery drain and high temperature still plagues my unit though

In addition, whenever i place my microSD card in, the player just freezes, and everything seems to crash, and i get many errors saying that services are not responding. This is silly. I spent more time trying to fix the device than listening to music, What's the point?

Hmmm, that's interesting... I wonder what's wrong with mine then. It can drop about 5 to 6 % in an hour, and no, there aren't any programs running in the background.

Well, i was wondering, my Dx100 seems to be constantly warm to the touch (i.e. a little higher than room temperature) and it seems to drain really really quickly, like i place it on standby and it drains in a day. Definitely not the same as the 72hours claimed. Oh well.
