The O2/ODAC is a good amp/dac but it doesn't let you get that last little bit out of the Alpha Prime. While I don't have any personal experience with any of these for portable/transportable use you might want to look into the Hifi-M8, DacPort, or Geek Out 1000. I should be getting a DacPort soon...

Yes I'm quite sure it is due to the tube picking up the radio. I have tried putting foil around the tube but it doesn't seem to affect it much. I think I would need to have a metal enclosure around pretty much the whole amp to get rid of the radio pickup
