thanks for the recommendation, MalVeauX... those sound pretty ideal - but I wind up using my phones around people a lot & don't like making them listen to what I'm listening to.... and it sounds like the isolation on the Panasonics is a little lacking.   I'm leaning towards the K518 at this...

Hey everyone,      I have a pair of MDR-V6s that have seen me through two years of skiing on Mt. Hood -- on the hill & off... needless to say it's been a tough life for them.  I have had to replace the jack on them twice (they sounded just as good afterwards so I know I did it right, haha)...
