SanDisk debuts newly designed Sansa Fuze+ PMPs
$119 is quite cheap for a 16gb upgradeable DAP with Flac support, and the price will probably lower than the MSRP when it is released. However, I don't really see any need to upgrade from the Fuze I have already. They didn't add any of the features I wanted, and it's disappointing that they...- Aslan123

Cowon X7 this summer!
Quote: Looking at this figures I agree and it wouldn't be surprising at all to see a 250gb drive announced in September. I just hope Apple doesn't take them all for a new Ipod Classic. 80gb of flash memory also sounds reasonable to me, since you can get a 1.8" Intel SSD for...- Aslan123

Cowon X7 this summer!
250gb would be nice, but drives this size will still be very difficult to source in large numbers if it uses 1.8" drives as rumoured. Also, the only ones that appear to be available are all dual-platter designs, so a DAP will have to be thicker in order to use these drives.- Aslan123

Sansa Fuze+
Quote: You are right, my mistake. Even still, touch controls just seem like an added cost, unless they really managed improve the interface over the original Fuze.- Aslan123

Sansa Fuze+
I'm a bit disappointed as I was mainly hoping for a full-size SDXC slot to replace the MicroSD. I don't really need or want a capacitive touchscreen since I think this would be more of a hindrance for a DAP, and something that would also raise the cost of the player as well. I guess I'll be...- Aslan123

James444's IEM giveaway thread (competition has ended - see post #344 and #354 for winners!)
This is very generous, Thanks james444. I've always been very curious about the ATH-CK100, since I already own two pairs of Audio Technica headphones, but I could never really justify them.- Aslan123

What Are The Most Beautiful Headphones Ever Made? Championship Poll
I own the W5000, but voted L3000. My W5000 does have a very nice wood grain, but I think the L3000 just looks like it's a cut above. Also I think I would pair the W11JPN with the W2002 on the list due to the lacquered finish.- Aslan123

Hello Head-Fi! Phiaton offers you free gear!
With sound quality, the most important thing to me is accuracy and transparency. I don't mind having a coloured sound as long as I like it, but if I have an unlimited budget, I would want the headphone to produce exactly what the artist intended. With comfort and build quality, quite simply...- Aslan123

The most downright depressive song you have ever heard
Joy Division - New Dawn Fades, although you could argue for both Unknown Pleasures and Closer in their entirety. Pink Moon by Nick Drake is also very depressing. -

Yamamoto Sound Craft HA-02
Well, I'm about to replace one of the tubes in my HA-02 and I just have a quick question. Can I just pull the tube from the top of the amplifier, or do I have to open up the amplifier up completely to change the tube. This is my first tube change, and I'm a bit nervous about opening up the...- Aslan123

NME's 50 best albums of 2009
The list is a bit different and although the 'usual' selections are there, I think they did try to make a serious effort. However, it's still another list where Sunset Rubdown is ignored, and it appears that they never reviewed Dragonslayer at all. -
