Portable Amp/DAC - Total Bithead or Fii0-E7 or NuForce?

I'm at the $150 price point for a DAC to drive a pair of Ety's on the road and a TMA-1 at my desk. The Bithead  appears to be the more rugged, the E7 is "shiny!" But which has the better sound?

Latching a momentary power switch in a Pimeta?

I'm looking at the following circuit to latch in the Bulgin momentary switch in a pimeta system: http://edn.com/contents/images/102804di.pdf This seems like a lot of components for such a simple task! (Four transistors, nine resistors, and a capacitor). Is there an alternative that...

    Nice Power Switches?

As steinchen pointed out in the previous message, the force required to make the momentary vandal proof switch will push a small amp around. However, the force needed to toggle a toggle switch is considerable also. The Bulgin switch has a very flush profile, and can be mounted on the top of...

Battery door for Hammond 1455K enclosure?

Well, the Bulgin BX0026 is not going to work very well with this enclosure, (the smallest Hammond that will take a Pimeta with an Alps pot). Has anyone used some type of hinged door to allow access to the batteries without having to unscrew the rear panel?

Just finished wiring my first Pimenta, (with stacked buffers, AD8620/10 soldered to the bottom of the board, ALPS pot, class A bias, ZNR/FET, and all of the caps). Following Tangent's testing steps, I first plugged in a pair of cheap headphones, which sounded great at all volume levels. Then...

Has anyone got a suggested panel layout drawing for Hammond 1455J and 1455K enclosures? I'm mounting a Pimeta with the board mounted Alps in the K, and an uncut Mint in the J. My first effort has produced a pretty ugly result, (however the case now has excellent ventilation properties!). I'm...
