Can it be used while charging? I'm contemplating an affordable rig that will have a budget high rez portable DAC/AMP and a discreet desktop amp like a Magni 2 uber or Asgard 2. I'd like the DAC to charge while in use.

The discussion of the 4-8khz range lull that folks are finding with the PM-3 makes me think, what is the range of Sabre-glare? So many new hd DACs and DAPs coming out with Sabre dacs, if the ranges are closely matched could this actually be intended?

Has anyone heard these and the Hifiman HE-400? Is the WS99 comparable in bass quality and quantity? How does detail compare, considering planar vs. dynamic and their pricepoints? I just demoed the HE-400 for a week but other recent hits to my budget have had me looking very seriously at the WS99...

I realize that you can use the headphone out into an amp, but it's not ideal. I'd like something that has a clean line level output that will bypass the unit's own built in amplifier.
