Best IEM tips?
I find them quite meh, they're decent with non bass-y or overly treble-y sets but on the Monarch mk3 for example they ruin the sound. There are much better tips out there IMO, Dunu S&S, Divinus Velvet, Softears Ultra Clear, AZLA Xelastec, etc- kalibri

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest
Resonators are used in speakers all the time, if you see a tall speaker with a bass port, most of the time it has a resonator of a certain dimension on the inside, either to boost the bass, cut the bass or just tune it. Kiwi Ears did not invent it and KARS is just their commercial name for this...- kalibri

Thieaudio Monarch MKIII impressions, reviews, and pictures thread
To my ears most EDM suffers from bass bloat so something like the Variations will sound great, due to that mid bass scoop. Of course, anything EQed to that profile will sound pretty nice, so try to EQ the MMK3 first to see if it would work for you. Do you have access to a PEQ? If yes, do this...- kalibri

Depends on the genre I guess, I MMK3 shines with live recorded instruments and not really with electronic music which generally has a lower production and instrument quality, not all but a lot of it (I would assume because synth music is a lot more accessible to create, compared to recording...- kalibri

Looks great but similar cables can be had for $30 to $50 from AE shops like Ivipq or Xinhs, they do custom orders. I have a few done with modular connectors and different wire colors. I have quite a few with different connectors, different wire thickness, etc. Apologies for the crappy photo.- kalibri

No worries and I understand what you mean, I always wear TWSs/IEMs when I'm out running too. I hope the problem you had will go away in the future, I believe they've done some nice things on v3. I also hope some day they come out with a successor to the 5k that's slightly bigger with better...- kalibri

Apologies for not offering information, I was more focused on the issue you are having. I think it's possible to rollback to a certain extent via the Chrome app. From the app, click on the firmware version and the ones in red are still available to roll back to. The ones in gray are locked out...- kalibri

Sorry there should be no flames at all, and myself I am trying to help. From your description you may have internet problems if the Qudelix app cannot fetch profiles. On my side they load seamlessly and go to the Spk PEQ section. I can also enable and disable both the User and Spk EQs...- kalibri

Sorry but you're being kind of vague, what about the PEQ is not working? PEQ works perfectly here, either as 2x10 or the old 20 bands, which can be selected from the DSP/Option tabs in the app. Poweramp Equalizer has a PEQ as well if you didn't know, that's how I've always been using it.- kalibri

KARS is not a gimmick and it's very commonly used in speakers. Now, does it do anything in an IEM? It appears so. Is it worth the cost? Probably not.- kalibri

Yes, but the measurements are not weighted so they are not precise. To have any sort of precision, A or C weighting should be used, especially if used to protect one's hearing.- kalibri

The Qudelix-5K thread
The measurements are not weighted so even if they seem in the ballpark at some points are still worthless. Until they add A or C weighting do not treat the numbers with any kind of confidence at all, especially if you intend to protect your hearing.- kalibri

The Qudelix-5K thread
It's not accurate at all since the calculation doesn't apply any weighting and it normally shows a level way higher than reality. Just search for A, C or Z weighting to understand what they are and why they're important.- kalibri
