After doing thousands and thousands of hours of research over the years I've realized that I'm not sensitive to the high treble of certain headphones, and honestly, I kind of prefer it. I absolutely LOVE the sapphire edition.

I love it, and I need it, but I can't afford it :slight_frown: I'm still looking for a DT 770 upgrade that has ridiculous sub bass at a reasonable price, pretty hard to find. I'd be done with upgrades if I had the TH 900's :)

Setup is a JDS Atom / JDS Dac and the Vmoda's were the M100's, so I guess I'm just picky and need to aim for something a bit higher end. I love that hardware EQ, I wouldn't mind having one :)

I've always heard they they have wild bass, so I wanted to try them out. I personally don't think that they sound like $200 headphones, but the build quality is very good.

I was disappointed as well with my DT 770's until I got my JDS Atom / dac. They are harder to drive than people say they are. They still aren't bass cannons, but they are very good.

Definitely, apparently the bamboo cups sound really good too. I would have purchased these instead of my DT 770's + Atom / Atom dac if I knew they were coming back.

How feasible would it be to swap the drivers in my old HD 595's and possibly make them closed back? They must be at least 15 years old, the pads are torn, and only one driver works at the moment, although I'm sure it's just the wiring. Meze 99 drivers possibly?

For $100, definitely. I was going to get the M100's myself as they are supposed to be quite fun, but I was concerned about the comfort, even with the XL pads.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm seeing here, a lot of the older recommended models are discontinued as well. The Kannon's seem like a really fun pair of headphones, but the reviews are quite mixed for a $500 pair of headphones. I think the only upgrade that would satisfy me around the $500...
