who else hates ipods?
I don't own any ipods, but I think they still fill a good niche in the market. (I realize "niche" is a little contradictory considering how much of the market they own, but that's not my point) I like messing around with mp3 players. It's fun for me to stick rockbox on something, tweak the...- trumpetdc

Best 2GB flash portable player?
I'll put a plug in for the creative zen v plus. I don't think the output is really powerful, so hopefully your headphones aren't too hard to drive. I use a set of ety's with them and it sounds *nice*. Plus it's tiny too! Of the players you mentioned, I've heard lots of good stuff about the Z5...- trumpetdc

I was thinking of pulling the trigger too, but I really couldn't find anywhere that carried the batteries and AC adapter. Have you had any luck?- trumpetdc

James Kim - missing - Cnet mp3 review guy
I heard through another forum that there was a car accident, and he left on foot to look for help. Kati flagged down the helicopter so she must have been physically okay. I haven't read of any other info such as James' whereabouts or the condition of his daughters.- trumpetdc

The Zune: A review.
Great review (thus far)! It makes me want to get a Zune! I'm kind of a masochist in that I'm willing to put up with software (I have no clue why). I used sonic stage in the very old days. Nice pics too! What camera did you use to take those?- trumpetdc

Maximize my iAudio X5 battery life
I've heard both actually. I've heard that it doesn't have power optimization, hence it has shorter battery life. And on the flip side, I've heard that since Rockbox doesn't use some of the hardware - like usb host - at all, it uses less power. Any rockbox experts out there? I'll say in...- trumpetdc

Maximize my iAudio X5 battery life
I'm having the same problem (AND it's about 1 month out of warranty), grrrr... Things to maximize battery: Don't use EQ or any effects (machbass, 3d, etc). I like some of the effects, but I noticed my battery life went up at least an hour when I turned them off. Set the LCD to turn off...- trumpetdc

subscription-compatible flash players
I believe the iriver t10 and t30 are subscription compatible. I don't know of any other flash players that are. Check out misticriver.net for some people that have tried it. I think there have been varying degrees of success with yahoo unlimited.- trumpetdc

Creative Muvo n200
I've had mine (512mb) for about 6 months. It's been pretty good. I had one problem where pausing it would cause it to turn off, but refreshing the firmware fixed that. I like it overall. I go jogging with it a lot, so it can definitely take some usage.- trumpetdc

Budget Flash Mp3 Player
http://www.spacecentersystems.com/ca...ucts_id/273445 I dunno if it's a price mistake, but they have the creative muvo tx fm 256mb for $8.00 plus about $9.50 shipping. $20 for a 256mb flash player is pretty good.- trumpetdc
