Workout Headphone Review – Sennheiser/Adidas CX 680 Sports & PMX 680 Sports
Just wanted to share my thoughts, as I've been using the PMX 680 on my runs for about a week now. After a couple months with a half dozen IEMs, my search is over. While IEMs offer better isolation, the PMX 680 removes the bone transmission "thump thump" completely. It's a tradeoff I'm totally...- Color Theory

Best IEM for running and hearing protection
Since the ER-4S keeps falling off my ears, today I tried using a twistie-tie to keep the cables together under my neck. Way too much microphonics. I give up running with them! Also, I managed to get the ER-6i to work using the large gel tips from the Klipsch Image S4. Maybe it has...- Color Theory

etymotic vs re0 vs triplefi
I tried calling first. After some phone tag, she had me email the PayPal receipt. This morning I got the shipping notice. I didn't realize they'd be coming from China. Guess I should expect them next... month? ;)- Color Theory

etymotic vs re0 vs triplefi
Still waiting for my RE0 to show up. In fact, it's been a few days and I never received any sort of confirmation except from PayPal! If it doesn't approximate the ER-4S on my runs, I guess I'll try the HF5.- Color Theory

Best IEM for running and hearing protection
Yesterday I found out that, at least for me, bone transmission with the ER-4S with the black foamies is INSANE! I had set a reasonable volume level at home, and found myself turning it up 4-5x. All I could hear was "thump, thump, thump" with every step. So I gave up and turned it off.- Color Theory

Audio Technica ATH-CK10
Alright, now the temptation is killing me. How does the isolation compare to the ER-4S? I actually listen at a pretty low volume, even when running. I confess I get startled a few times, in the rare event that someone passes me from behind. ;)- Color Theory

The Jeans-fi thread
Levi's 511 skinny (but not 510 SUPER skinny) are a perfect fit for me! I just bought four pairs, and that's all I'll wear until it gets hot enough to wear shorts again. I bought a couple waist sizes higher than normal, and they fit fine and don't cling to my skin like spandex.- Color Theory

Audio Technica ATH-CK10
I've read several pages of this thread and am seriously enticed. Since revisiting these forums after a five-year gap, I've already purchased a couple IEMs and am waiting for the RE0 to show up. Apologies if this has been addressed, but would it be crazy to run with these? I've been running with...- Color Theory

Where to go from ER4P? CK10 / DBA-02 / SM3 / UM3X ?
I'm guessing you've tried the adapter to "convert" the 4P into the 4S? Looking at the charts, it's not technically more bass, but it sounds SO much better!- Color Theory

You know, I had a good reason for staying away from this forum for awhile...
I'm back after a long hiatus as well. I haven't done as much damage to my wallet this time as last though (yet).- Color Theory

etymotic vs re0 vs triplefi
I wonder if the ER-6i would fit with the triple flange instead of the double. I've never gotten a seal out of them. I've got the ER-4S though, so obviously that's my preference. As for the bass on the 4P/S, I used the included black foamies today, and there was plenty of bass. I'm used to...- Color Theory

Best IEM's for $85-$90USD?
Yes, the Klipsch are bassy, which IMHO is a perfect fit for Dubstep! Burial sounds incredible on them IMHO.- Color Theory

Ultimate ears 500 vs Klipsch Image s4
+1 for Klipsch. I prefer the ER-4S for listening in a quiet room, but the Klipsch comes through when ambient noise/rumble would otherwise swallow up the bass.- Color Theory

Best IEM for running and hearing protection
The ER-6i won't fit in my ear, no matter what tip I use. The body of the housing stops it from getting in far enough. I'm thinking maybe the Etymotic HF5 might be tolerable, but after seeing that my little shuffle can drive the ER-4P with the S cable, I'm getting spoiled! Today I ran with it...- Color Theory

Klipsch x10i any impressions?
Do they have the same bass bump that the Klipsch Image S4 has? I love the fit of those, but the bass can be overpowering in a quiet room. Perfect for in the car or subway though!- Color Theory

How's the dynamic range on Etymotic ER4?
I'm a mastering engineer and pianist myself, so maybe our ears are a good match :). I really love my ER4P, and using the adapter cable to make it an ER4S does amazing things for the high end and overall detail. These don't sound compressed at all to me. Your mileage depends of course on the...- Color Theory

Best Earphones/IEM's under $250 for my needs?
This is under your budget, but I really like the Klipsch Image S4i. The bass is "enhanced" but smooth, and the highs are crisp. The only problem for me is that the bass bump makes me turn them up louder than I normally would to hear the midrange instruments, but I'm really careful about...- Color Theory

Top IEM for gym use
You're killing your knees though. ;) I'm lucky here in CA too. I run on the wetlands to the beach. Sometimes I pause the music when I cross PCH. Probably should do it all the time. :)- Color Theory

etymotic vs re0 vs triplefi
I bought ER-6is for my wife a few years back. For all I know, they sound great, but they don't fit my ears, no matter what tips I use. The body of the phone is too bulky. I just ordered the RE0s, so hopefully I won't be faced with the same issue.- Color Theory

Best IEM for running and hearing protection
Thanks! I actually scanned through that thread before posting, but I'm not as much concerned with durability as I am with protecting my hearing. Actually, I'd probably take my ER-4P to the gym without hesitation, but I don't think they work for running. Has anyone tried running with the...- Color Theory

Best IEM for running and hearing protection
I run 6 miles 3-4 times a week, and just started wearing IEMs with a 3rd generation shuffle. I started on my old Vibe Duos, but they were too bassy and really lacking in the highs, plus I hear a lot of whooshing from the wind blowing over my ears. Just last week I got Klipsch S4is and I love...- Color Theory

Help! Can't get highs out of E3c's
Wow, you guys are great! Two responses and I was still busy editing my original post. Thank you for the valuable information! Maybe the E3's just aren't right for me and I should consider the ER-4Ps. They are more expensive (got my Shures for $119), but if I don't need a custom mold, that...- Color Theory
