I've been reading that they've been using inferior quality parts on the newer versions of this product.  Is this still the case?

What are your thoughts on cable replacements? Do any of them yield a meaningful improvement over the stock cable?

While listening to some albums I just encoded to FLAC, encoding level 8 with FLAC frontend, I noticed the volume level was considerably lower than with my mp3's of the same albums. anyone know why this is?
