I know I have over 1000 CDs (various genres)...... kind of. I have assorted cases and artwork that no longer have CDs in them (FRICKEN THIEVES) and another good portion that have CDs with no artwork or cases. Also alot of my stuff from the early 90s (before CDRs) is scratched up from using them...

I haven't tried a ton of DJ phones, but I was very impressed with the K81DJs as far as sound, durability, and build quality. I know they aren't as much as what you were looking to spend, but the K181DJs are the step up so you may want to check those out if you have the cash to drop.

Its not all about the sound (Even though I appreciate that also). The build quality is wonderful, material choice is top notch, and I really can't believe how comfortable these are. The bag isn't half bad either. I sold a pair of MS1s, Bowls, K81DJs, IM716s to fit the DT990s into my budget...

The screen/mesh I used was metal, it wasn't to difficult to work with, I could cut it with a razor blade. It isn't very flimsy really especially since the epoxy. I kept the epoxy clean by asking both sides of the screen with masking tape cut to equal sized circles, after it started to set up...

My laptop will push these to a level luder than I would normally listen at which surprised me since they are the 250ohm. I was under the impression that I wouldn't be able to hear anything at this impedence from a laptop. It is not a deafining level but can go louder than "I" find comfortable...

I think the K81DJs are a worthy upgrade over the KSC75s, they have more bass, but still sound great, are durable, don't leak sound, foldablr, and look cool also.

The longest I have worn the Grados in one sitting is probably about 3 hours, and I never had a comfort problem with the bowls or comfies. I prefer the bowls though because they aren't as hot and they sound soooooo much better in my opinion.
