Good advice. I’m iOS so the qudelix is one of the few good EQ options for me on the go.- jmb239

Official Unofficial 8XX Discussion Thread - UPDATE SENNHEISER HAS BEEN SOLD!!! GT(heck)IH
I’m using oratory’s 8XX eq and it’s pretty good. I’m not sure why you’d want to physically change the headphone if you aren’t using them portable. Even if you are using them portable, I’d suggest getting a Qudelix 5k and adding eq there. Works great on mine.- jmb239

Grado Fan Club!
No doubt. I'd take a real hard look at what DAC features (balanced, line out, PEQ, etc) are desired and pair it with a reasonable amp. In the dark ages, way back in mid-aughts, I ran my HF1 off of anything and I still do. I have to be more mindful of what I hook my planars up to.- jmb239

Recommend me a starter turntable
I have a Project 1.2 from 1999 I think. The only issues I've had with it are related to the motor. It seems the motor doesn't develop quite enough torque on its own to get the platter moving. This usually only happens after long breaks between sessions. Also, this only started happening...- jmb239

HD600 or 650 with iPod and unamped sources?
That's true for many senny, especially when not in a quiet environment. I just think if the OP likes the SQ of the senns he should get them first. Everything else surrounding them will attenuate the sound but not change its identity.- jmb239

HD600 or 650 with iPod and unamped sources?
Get the 650/600s. People who say they sound bad unamped are speaking in realitive terms. A lower impedence phone may make it to 90% of their potential unamped, wheares a higher impedence phone might make it to 75% of their potential unamped. The 650/600 will likely sound better then pretty...- jmb239

E4......BUMMER!
jjcha, I had the same problem with my left channel on the Superfi's. It's probably just the cable. They've been having problems with the first run and changed them somehow (memory wire I think). Anyway try and get in touch with Ultimate Ears and I think you'll get the replacement faster than...- jmb239
